Located in Tower Hamlets, this Turkish restaurant offers a perplexing culinary experience, blending Indian influences with traditional Turkish cuisine. While some diners found the service decent and appreciated the affordability with taste cards, many expressed disappointment over the unauthentic flavors and lackluster dishes. Repeated complaints highlighted poorly executed mains, dry kebabs, and unremarkable lamuchan, leading to concerns about its viability. An alarming incident involving a bug in a drink further tarnished the restaurant's reputation. Despite a few positive remarks about friendly staff and occasional tasty takeaways, the consensus remains that there are far better dining options nearby.

Was Marine L at Maa Turkish a mag?
I returned a month later, and the waiter recognized me immediately. We struck up a conversation, and I asked for a recommendation. He selected a dish for me, and I opted for takeaway this time. While waiting for my meal, I chatted with the staff and was offered a cozy cup of tea to warm me up on a cold winter night. What jamal a dislikes about Maa Turkish:
This restaurant in Tower Hamlets serves the lowest quality Turkish food. There seems to be confusion between an Indian and Turkish restaurant, as they served poppadums with typical Indian dips as soon as we were seated. The food was lacking in quality and had been altered to be more Asian in flavor. It is unlikely that this restaurant will remain in business for long. View all feedback.
This restaurant is Turkish, but it is run by Indians and the food is more Indian than Turkish. The food was average and the service was decent. The bill was reasonable thanks to the taste card, but it may not be worth it otherwise. I wouldn't strongly recommend it, but it depends on your preferences.
Just order mix meat ,i ask for 50 percent of chicken and 50 percent of lamb.I come to home and i see what is a box.70 percent of lamb and 30 percent or less chicken!!!Why!!
We went on a friday evening and the place was empty. Now I know why! The food is unauthentic and lacked the flavour you would expect from a decent Turkish restaurant. The only half decent thing we had was the lamuchan, and even that was not great but not absolutely terrible. The base was too soft but it was passable. Mains are terrible, as they overload the plate with rice and couscous to hide the fact you get very little in the way of meat. Our beyti kebabs were tiny and completed drowned by the shere amount of rice on the plate. The beyti and kofte were dry, overcooked and did not have any distinct flavour. These were poor imitations of what you'd expect from a decent Turkish restaurant and seeing as they charge the same prices you might aswell go somewhere else. The worse thing was that we found a bug in our drinks and when we informed them they did nothing! They just mentioned it was hot and there were flies about! We were also charged for these too! The lack of concern that they served drinks to us like that which we only realised mid way through and then doing nothing is a guarantee never to get repeat business. I'll never be going here again!
