Nestled in a historic seventeenth-century tea factory, The Dickens Inn offers patrons a spacious and charming ambiance by the picturesque St Katherine's Dock. While the various dining options create a lively atmosphere, recent visits have highlighted mixed experiences. Some guests enjoyed delightful dishes and friendly service, while others faced disappointing food quality and lackluster beer options. Although the bar's energy fluctuated, with some attributing a quieter atmosphere to seasonal factors, the inn's comfortable setting remains a draw for those seeking a unique London experience. The promise of well-prepared meals and attentive service keeps diners hopeful for future visits.

Was fork handles at Grill On The Dock a mag?
We visited The Dickens Inn for drinks and snacks in December 2023. This expansive wooden building is located within the picturesque St Katherine's Dock area, close to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge. There were four well kept real ales on offer at the time of our visit as well as a wide variety of other beers, lagers, wines and spirits. What owen t dislikes about Grill On The Dock:
The Dickens is in a seventeenth century tea factory that was converted to the pub in 1850. It is a very large pub with various restaurants throughout. We sat in the pub and had sausage mash and a pepperoni pizza. Very busy, but does have outside and inside seating, so regular turnover of seats. View all feedback.

Always a regular drop in when visiting the area, However the recent visit left me feeling a tad bemused. Draught lager was flat and sadly the bar staff did not seem very “bothered” to perhaps check on gas or glasses etc however did offer alternative drink which was good however sadly that line was also flat, So resorted to bottled beer. Friday afternoons into evenings would normally be jumping due to local office workers finishing off their week with drinks, Yet this time the bar was dead, At one stage that were probably 4-tables in the whole bar which was shocking compared to how it has been, Yes of perhaps the time of the year is a big factor, However the choice of draught has changed a lot with Stella and Peroni no longer on offer and more B-C* class of lagers on offer Fingers crossed the venue “Hots Up” and bring back the more top line draught beers please

The restaurant had a fantastic view of the dock. However, the food was disappointing as it came out burnt, including the lemon on my plate. Despite the empty seating, the bar had a lively atmosphere.

There were four well kept real ales on offer at the time of our visit as well as a wide variety of other beers, lagers, wines and spirits. Although it was late lunchtime we were able to find a table fairly easily and ordered some snacks off the menu, which arrived quickly. As per most pubs in London, the prices aren't the cheapest but the surroundings are interesting and feel like being on a wooden sailing ship (the building was originally a tea warehouse). We were glad we came here and would return again, if in the vicinity.

I did a typical Google search for nearby restaurants and found this gem. The restaurant has a lot of history, with its old and rustic charm creating a cozy atmosphere. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly and accommodating.

The drinks are fantastic, the atmosphere is wonderful, and we had an amazing time. Marc provided excellent service, and we were lucky to have him as our server. Thank you for hosting us!
