While on a Jack the Ripper tour, my sister and I stumbled upon Ghandi, a delightful Indian restaurant in Curry Street (Brick Lane.) We returned later in the week with friends to try more dishes. We ordered the tandoori platter, which was a bit dry for my taste but still enjoyable. The garlic chili chicken was too hot for me, but the butter chicken was delicious. Overall, we had a great experience at Ghandi and would recommend it to others looking for good Indian food.

To start, we ordered the tandoori platter which was a bit dry for my taste, but still managed to tantalize our taste buds for the next round. We then tried the garlic chili chicken (which was too spicy for me with whole jalapeños), butter chicken (delicious), tandoori chicken (the standout dish of the day with tender meat and the perfect level of heat), and tikka masala chicken (similar to our first visit). We also had mixed vegetables, special fried rice with egg, and different types of naan: traditional, garlic, and cheese. The best rice was the first, although it was a little dry. All of the naans were great, especially when dipped in the chicken tikka sauce and chili. Our waiter, R. Ali, was very friendly, but other staff members seemed in a rush to clear our table before we had finished eating, which was a bit of a downside. We felt a bit rushed overall. Despite this, I still highly recommend Ghandi's.
