Carluccio's
3.5 / 5 (1933 reviews)

Description

Carluccio's offers a delightful yet somewhat inconsistent dining experience. The menu features flavoursome dishes and an extensive gluten-free selection, making it a standout for those with dietary restrictions. While some diners appreciate the restaurant's vibrant atmosphere and attentive staff, they note the service can be slow, particularly during busy times, and portion sizes may not always satisfy larger appetites. The open layout contributes to a noisy environment, which could hinder intimate conversations. Overall, Carluccio's delivers enjoyable food and a welcoming ambiance, but some elements could benefit from improvement. Worth a visit, especially if you plan accordingly.

Review from a happy Coeliac! Carluccio's offers a separate dedicated gluten free menu and this is one of the most extensive of any restaurant you can find in Canary Wharf. That makes it a great destination if you want to eat gluten free for a sit down meal. Food is flavoursome and satiating. Although it arrived on a plate rather than a platter I especially enjoyed the variety within a gluten free sharing platter . . . which I did not share! Caveats that explain the modest score are . . . Like many restaurants, the open plan layout results in the restaurant become very noisy during popular times, limiting conversation I asked for jugs of water for a large group I was dining with and this was not on offer, with us instead needing to await refills from servers (great people, but also very busy Basins in the gents WCs as so tiny that it seems impossible to place hands under running water without bashing against the basin . . . which is not the most hygienic arrangement. Please replace the sinks! :

The lasagna was really good and a large portion possibly good for 2 people to share. Service could have been better as we felt the waiter was pressuring us to make an order and when we were ready to make an order, it appears that he intentionally made us wait for him to return. He also made it quite clear to us that the service charge was not included in the bill. His attitude ruined a good meal.

It's good for a breakfast in a hurry or to take away some quality Italian ingredients for a nice home made dinner. Also bustling for an after work meetup in Canary Wharf. And...during summer, awesome for sparking drinks at their premium outdoor seating in the heart of Canary wharf. An institution.

Avoid this place at all costs. The service is awful with frustrated waitstaff. It's a shame that a restaurant like this exists.

We hadn't been to Carluccio's in a long time. Disappointed with the quality of the food and service. Risotto looked like soup and raviolis were...
