We are big fans of authentic Mexican cuisine and run a mile from formulaic TexMex fare so we were delighted to come across Boho Mexica. The restaurant is quirkily decorated and the upbeat but relaxed vibe welcomes you as soon as you walk in. The menu is compact but full of enticing dishes with traditional Mexican ingredients, while the drinks menu offers an array of mouth-watering margaritas, mojitos, caipirinhas etc... What Lena doesn't like about Boho Mexica:
Guacamole with Taco Chips was much too salty, made it inedible. Other food was nice but not much for the money. Service was a bit all over the place. Never brought back the drinks menu we asked for, so we had our Cocktail in that quirky pub across the road instead. View all feedback.
Two weeks ago, some of my expat friends and I read this glowing review of boho mexica and knew we had to check it right away. if they know any American expats in london, they will know that Mexican food is our catnip and crack, rolled in one.
Artistic and Bohemian. I like this: old literature and art on the walls, Mexican artists, Mexican taste from different regions. the best were the drinks, the music and the tacos. we all had a few salses and the three milkcakes. the food was delicious, although our table was on the back and a bit too crowded a Friday night. however we had a table without reservation waiting in the lounge (yes, there is a beautiful lounge area). service (this blond Australian girl) was really friendly! best Mexican option in the opposite.
Coolest East London Mexican. they want to have a delicious Mexican food, listen to good music and have fun, this is the place in the east londons. I tried a few tex mex in the city, by the way disgusting until I appeared in boho mexica. Even the old times on the wall and the historical posters about mexiko in the fifties have amazed me. drink really good, they have good employees behind the bar. we had all tacos, the cochinita is my favorite. though tables are small, but they can enjoy the living east london live at the windows: good looking at commercial st. really good atmosphere!
Yummy yummy. beautiful and friendly staff good cocktails and reaaaaally gott Mexican food. if they are lost again in the coast and want to try a good fresh and tasty eating boho mexica is the option in the opposite. they can also have fun and drinks in the lounge area!A pity that they no longer have boho mexica in london!
Just as in Mexico. I took my wife to boho Mexica and tried the Asado de Boda Edde a dish that you can only find in a specific region of Mexico. I was really surprise as the Zacatecan Wedding Roast was just as in Mexico! It must be the only restaurant in London serving this traditional mexican food. We had a good wine (Merlot) and the mexican cake Tres leches Delicious. cosy atmosphere, friendly staff, I recommend you to book in advance.
