Contribute Feedback What Claudine Becker doesn't like about Hippopotamus:
Despite the good reception of the staff, we did not appreciate this release. Industrial food, heated dry meat, barely cooked frozen fries, frozen beans full of water. Idem dessert, undrinkled syrup fruit pie, hard paste, unbuvable coffee...We will not come back, that's certain. View all feedback.
Arriving at 8:30-21h, it was served quickly. I took the mussels with vegetables rather than fries. There was the quantity but a small flat was warm. but the waiters were in the cares by bringing the breads, the water carafe and the chips from the beginning. for dessert, I took the pie of the moment: strawberry pie. for strawberries it was perfect but the sandy paste was too hard.
Reception cold service too fast. The fish was cold and not cooked. I'm using the dish. To avoid if you're not in a hurry.

As we just had a nightly stopover en route to the French Pyrenees we wanted to have an early dinner. This Hippopotamus opened at 18.30, we were the first guests. Who I think was the manager or owner served us. As a managementtechnique she used management-by-shouting-around preferably when placing plates on our table. The two youngest had the childrens menu with fishfinger. Very nice and fresh. The sauce served with it was a bit to spicy for them but you can ask for mayonaise (sorry, we're Dutch ) or ketchup. We had a menu including a drink, an entree or dessert. My husbands tarte tomates/thon was very good. I had the carpaccio whis was served with just oliveoil, also very nice but without the promised bread with they forgot, just that meat soaked in olive oil. The beef was ok, not spectacular. The sauce bearnaise was horribly bland. My eldest had the moules a volonte, they were perfect and replaced without asking. They also forgot the surprise with the childrensmenu. All in all with a bottle of rose, food for two adults and three children we spend €105,-. Would recomend for family with (small) children not for a couple.
Then on our arrival the mural boss jumped on us and as did not choose the drinks have c is noticed that have the swollen the boss after the meal comment to come waitress very nice husband rigolote
