An excellent 'floating' restaurant. We always try to visit when in the area, their lunch specials are really great. The staff are very friendly....do try to speak to them in French though! View all feedback.
What Adeboye Aligbe doesn't like about La Peniche:
Sat on a boat overlooking a lake, it is not surprising that prices were high compared to quality.Good starter, but BIG mistake ordered fish on a mondaysmelly and tired looking fillets with what appeared to be an aubergine and courgette mush to accompany it.staff very pleasant but let down by chefs who gave another bad impression by hanging around smoking at the door of the restaurant View all feedback.
Reasonable price and a wonderful place to eat. escape and carp that make your date even more attractive.
Family of 4 ordered menu . the bone insert was not up to an expected standard. prawns were excellent . due hearts were thought, but sauce was ekxusit. excellent ham! so very mix quality so the evaluation. stuff very attentive and welcome!
Lovely lunch with visiting family. Always lots of choice and menus at 13.50€, 21.50€ and 29.50€ so prices for everyone. Generous portions of delicious food.

Enjoyed our first meal here so much that we returned a couple of weeks later. Sometimes you can be disappointed on a second visit, but not the case here. Certainly an unusual venue, yet the prices are not ramped up (they would be in the...UK We had the €29.50 menu on both occasions....there are two cheaper options, and the intermediate one looks very appealing.....but we had to have the gambas flambed in armagnac again. No stinting on the armagnac, and a generous number of large gambas. This course is preceded by a tureen of soup (even if it isn't mentioned on the menu Mains were nicely cooked and presented, with the waiter offering to cook our meat some more, if we wished. Plenty of dessert choices to finish with. Our first meal here was Sunday lunch, when we were lucky to get a table. We noticed that the car park was pretty full at lunchtimes when we passed, so reserved a table for our second meal. Friendly and attentive service, courses well timed.
