Contribute FeedbackI was searching some place for a coffee and snacks and this café definitely fulfilled my expectations. Good value for the money, although centric but non touristic....
The rain was bouncing off the cobbles when my wife and I selected this modern looking cafe as a refuge. We had walked past it the previous day and we knew that it is well used by local people. As you would expect it serves an interesting array of sandwiches served hot and cold, croissants and a rather limited selection of pastries. These are not the focus of this revue, I drink cafe Americano as expresso is too strong for me and I don't find it refreshing and I adore black coffee. Our Air B&B host had implored us to visit an elaborate ornate cafe in the city square that served the best coffee in town, we did this for breakfast, however in my humble estimation the black coffee served at SLD Cafe was significantly better. The coffee was rich and smooth with no watery aspect to it or any hint of an after taste. With five people working in this small cafe the device is excellent even when it is busy.
Amazing sandwich choices, beautiful to look at, delicious, and none over 5 euros! Had the most expensive sandwich in the shop, a roast pork with cornichon, arugula, lettuce and aioli for 4.95 euros. The salad choices looked great, too.
It was an excellent find for a quick meal, with an ample choice of refreshing salads and sandwiches (and desserts for those with a sweet tooth.) Ordering was straightforward, even if you're a visitor speaking very limited French.
Wonderful find for quick lunch, amongst sightseeing. Well priced, with great sandwiches! Staff were efficient and helpful, especially as we didnt speak french.
