What Charles Pelletier doesn't like about Restaurant Le Petit Ogre:
the most, it is the location, the crunch side and the very fresh products. Seeing the toilet in a closet, not closing behind a curtain. A little hippie, after that's not the kitchen, but rather the decor. We warm the roast, not even soft, a little hard and we organize the 4 vegetables around, nicely. eggplants are not cooked, vaguely, not good, 3 pieces of potato, good this time and raw vegetables around. for dessert... The concept of the restaurant is friendly, serves few cutlery and their kitchen is very narrow: this creates a long waiting for a mixed plate (hot cold)I found the right price: 10€ for local and sometimes organic products. The welcome is warm.
A lot of waiting for not much. The kitchen is acceptable but not very much copied: in the entrance a small cup of cumin carrot soup rather successful then I took a plate composed of another small cup of basil houmous with 2 salad leaves, lean vegetable lamelles, a teaspoon of rice and 4 roasted potatoes, all watered with oil. carrot soup and humming were good, but for the rest it makes the filling expensive! No bread, very little seasoning, I made a second restaurant on my way out, that's the first time it happened to me!
The price is very high for really little filled plates. No more bread we go out with hunger in the belly. the red half-pichet (something) to 18 euros... the size of the resto is also riquiquiquiqui, the promiscuity is at the rdv. they accept up to 18 people on the floor, no air conditioning, just a small opening on the outside with a small ventilo in front, hell!the concept: benches with bass tables in front. The waitress moves the customers when others arrive, if we come to 4, we can find ourselves online on a bench as at the bus stop, elsewhere, a group of four (who had booked) went straight back when we saw that, well they took it! And what about waiting! 45mn just for a plate with raw vegetables for most, chopped menu (it makes more volume...).I still put a second star for the taste, it's good a raw carrot!
Toulouse city center, close to the capitol, having a meal at this small ogre is a real pleasure. Our guests are very nice, the kitchen is good, as much vegetarian as meat! And yes, because they do both, which is convenient, right?
We chose it because one of the people in the group was celiac and we were not wrong. It has very few tables and a kind of altillo with cushions and a table where they feel several diners. It doesn't have a card as such, you basically choose the main one: (when we were chicken, sausage, and hummo) and they bring you a dish that has salad, legumes (we put a kind of very rich lentil hummo) and what you have asked for. all natural, very fresh, flavored. Price about 20€ per head. the food is natural and it is noticed though I personally am more fan of the variety.I would recommend it because it has charm and the food is fresh and tasty.Perfect for celiacs.
