Roks - Torshavn

Probably my favorite dine place in Tórshavn. This place has great service, great atmosphere and great drink recommendation. Food is great too! Some dishes are quite impressive. Fresh and tasty. What I don’t like is, we have to share the small portion of food. We were quite confused by how to share as we had even numbers of people.

Sister restaurant of the 2 Michelin star KOKS which unfortunately is closed for the summer of 2022. Many staff are from KOKS so the service is wonderful and US$140 for their full tasting menu is really quite reasonable. They have have a great wine selection and if you choose to have a beer, they will walk around to the bar next door and bring you one! Menu changes slightly from time to time so best go online to look at their menu before heading down.

As KOKS was closed for renovation, we decided to make ROKS our little treat while visiting the Færøer islands. What a feast. We tried the little degustation menu and got plenty of flavours to try. From butter with fish taste (in a good way) to sea urchin omelet, everything was delicious. The staff was also very friendly and made our evening an evening well spend.

Amazing seafood tasting menu (On The Roks, 895 DKK) at ROKS, right in the middle of Torshavn old town. The food is absolutely delicious, with the freshest seafood and so well executed such that you can taste the freshness of ingredients and even taste the sea. There isn’t the funky fermented or dried food which is associated with Faroese cuisine so it’s more accessible to everyone. Loved every dish, especially the langoustines in blood Mary sauce. Do make a reservation in advance!

Good place. Cozy, families and tourists alike. We had the 800kr tasting menu and it was good and interesting. Staff is friendly. One unusual thing: you pay in advance. In our case 10 days and 4.000km in advance!! BUT, in my opinion, when you have seafood this good, it doesn't need so much flare. Case in point the fish: didn't need to be cooked in a pastry and the langoustines....would have been a lot better with the **** mary sauce on the side.
