Not too much you can say other then the New upstart was doomed from the start. Very high prices for this bucket city . This is WELLAND and not Toronto. Local people do not spent that type of money to go out here in our city.It had changed ownership five or six time and they all never made it worked.A number of problems that contributed to it's downfall.
Friend pulled up this restaurant on her cell phone and saw that it is permanently closed. She had told me that it looked closed last time she went by the restaurant but confirmed it for me today The owner gave it a good try and had fixed it up nicely.
A big disappointment! We thought we would have a pleasant evening, but that didn't happen. The front door was open letting in flies. Music blared from a Toronto radio station geared to hip hop. More than 90% of the tables were empty and we were placed at a small table for two. Took an hour to get any food. It was five pieces of pizza dough with a very small amount of cheese. It was also cold! A $19.00 appetizer consisted of one shrimp, some caprese salad, bottled artichoke and mushrooms. It was so so. My filet mignon was so tough I could barely get a fork into it so that I could cut it. I had asked for medium rare but it was over cooked and tasted like it had been baked in the oven. The vegetables were over cooked. The beans were shrivelled and very mushy. This meal was inedible. To top it all off, everything was smothered in a grey looking sauce. The only positive thing I have to say is that the wine was good and the cutlery was clean. We declined coffee and dessert. I would say that the meal, even if good, was priced about 50% high for this area.
My husband and I met 13 years ago when this location was known as The Kave. We got married there 9 years ago when it was part of The Days Inn. We decided to return to celebrate our 9th anniversary. The atmosphere was relaxing and yes this isn't a fast service restaurant, it isn't meant to be. A higher end meal is meant to be eaten slower to digest the courses and enjoy conversations. The food is made from scratch and was superb. The deserts are delightful and definitely not from a frozen box. Thank you Holly and Roshan for making our anniversary extra special.
Took the wife out for a nice dinner at Vaticano the other night. She's Italian and said that the food here is just like back home. What's up with all the trashy reviews of this place? If you want fast and cheap food go to Mc Donald's. Everything was excellent. Mushroom soup, ceaser salad, fresh pasta and dessert. Guess people around here just don't appreciate real food. This place is awesome. We will be back with friends for sure.
