Union Chicken - Sherway Gardens

The food was enjoyable, but we had to leave early because we were seated next to a table, even though there were other tables for two open. When we inquired about moving to a different table, we were not informed that they were reserved. I am unsure how to specifically reserve certain tables.

I had a great first impression upon entering the restaurant. The ambiance was fantastic. We started with guacamole and chips, but I was disappointed to find that there was not much guacamole and the portion was small for the price of almost $7. The banh sandwich was not great either, as the bread seemed old, which was a shame because the taste was good. My boyfriend had the "og sandwich" which was a letdown as well. It was a mix of stale bread, small pieces of chicken, and hard dough that made it very dry. I was surprised that a restaurant specializing in sandwiches did not offer options for chicken breast, as there was only one choice available. Overall, we expected more from this place.

The service at this restaurant is excellent and the food is delicious. It's a fantastic place to dine!

My partner and I have visited this establishment twice and were really impressed with the service and food. However, when we reserved a table to come on New Years Eve as our third visit, not only did the service feel rushed, the waiter rudely interrupting our conversation multiple times when we were clearly not ready to order, and then promptly telling us that the bar would close in 5 minutes as soon as we sat down, some of our food arrived over-cooked and/or cold. I understand that it's New Years Eve and staff more than likely want to go home and celebrate with family and friends, but the reservations at this restaurant were clearly available up until 9:30pm, if not longer too book, the restaurant was fairly quiet and there were only 4 other tables there at the time, they indicated they wanted all customers out by turning on all the lights by the time it was 8:30pm. Regardless, I feel so embarrassed having recommended this to my family to have dinner out for New Years Eve as we were considering ordering delivery, we probably should have done that to avoid the service and quality we received altogether.
