During our family visit, we were lucky enough to secure a reservation at this restaurant, and I can’t recommend it enough! The experience alone is worth it, not to mention the fantastic food. The venue might be small, but it exudes a warm and welcoming vibe. The staff are friendly, and the service was outstanding. I highly suggest making a reservation ahead of time. This place comes highly recommended! View all feedback.
What Peter Steinberg dislikes about Tinuno:
The food has a homemade quality to it, with no standout flavors. Eating with my hands was an interesting experience, but overall, my visit was decent. That said, the taste isn't something I would seek out again. View all feedback.
That being said, I truly enjoyed the meal for $25—no complaints on that front! Everything else was well-seasoned, tender, and had a delightful charred flavor. The garlic rice, in particular, was delicious, and I couldn't help but go back for seconds. I'm already contemplating a return visit!
We ordered the Kamayan (take a look at the video), and at just $20 per person, it was quite a good deal considering the generous portions. The food was delicious, but my only complaint is that it wasn’t served hot enough. I understand they were likely trying to avoid burns, but most of my meal ended up being lukewarm. The service was okay. It was a busy night with a lot of take-out orders, so we had to wait for things like gloves and water refills. The dining area is a bit cramped, so it’s a good idea to make reservations if you’re coming with a big group.
This charming little hidden gem offers a delightful Filipino kamayan feast! The cozy interior features closely arranged tables that create a lively atmosphere. The kamayan feast was incredibly flavorful and satisfying, boasting generous portions of seafood, pork belly, pork skewers, and garlic rice. At the time of my visit, it was an excellent value at just $20 per person, and they even offer extra garlic rice if you're still hungry! The tilapia was slightly overcooked for my taste, but that might just be a personal preference. We also enjoyed the ube kalaya dessert, which had a delightful nutty, jam-like texture. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I look forward to returning!
This was my first time trying Filipino BBQ, and it was an amazing experience! I can’t see how anyone could not enjoy it. The food is simple yet incredibly tasty, with a wide range of flavors that everyone can appreciate at the table.
The food is great, although sometimes the fish can be a little too dry or overcooked. It's a small but charming place. I highly recommend trying the hot bar!
