Feedback
The Host offers a mixed experience, with some diners raving about the authentic Indian cuisine and attentive service, while others criticize long wait times, cold food, and lackluster flavors. The ambiance is praised, but quality varies between locations, leading to disappointment for some patrons. Pricing and portion size are consistent points of contention, although many appreciate the upscale atmosphere for special occasions. The menu caters to various dietary preferences, but service missteps, like offering non-vegan options to vegan diners, are noted. Overall, The Host's reputation for quality Indian food remains intact, despite occasional inconsistencies.
Highly recommended! Delicious food, great selection for everyone! Friendly service. great for a family gathering or romantic ocassion.
The Host is great Indian food. They are very accommodating and polite. Layout of the place was romantic and there is a small patio you can eat at which is very cute. One dish can be shared with two people and order rice on the side. It's a lovely place and the butter chicken was great.
I was staying at the Intercontinental hotel on Bloor and looking for a good restaurant nearby. The Host came up in my search. It was just around the corner in Yorkville and the thought of a good curry encouraged me to give it a try. I was not disappointed. It is in a basement of a very high end area of the city. Once inside, I was greeted by a friendly staff. The seating was comfortable and relaxing. I was glad that it was a real restaurant, not a cafeteria style place. Poppadoms came quickly. Indian beer. A nice, rich lamb curry with saffron rice and fresh Nan bread. I was a happy man. And reasonably priced!
Slightly disappointing Indian restaurant. First off I want to say this is a nice quaint restaurant in yorkville which seemed to be busy for winterlicious. Service was alright people were nice service was a bit slow it took 45 min to get our first...course... the dishes come out nicely arranged portion sizes are nice. But I have to say the authenticity of the food was not there. It was a very canadianized Indian food. Spice profile was all mixed not necessarily North Indian or from a particular region it was just extremely bland with odd flavour combinations. I’ve been to several Indian restaurants including other locations of the Host and this by far was no where close to the others in quality and flavour. It was very disappointing and I have been to this location over a 15 year period something has changed I won’t go back not worth the money.
