Hard to maneuver through the parking lot, and the traffic is busy. Once inside it was casual but nice. The server was pleasant and the food was very good. We had Sweet n Sour Chicken, which I liked because it wasn't too sweet or pungent, and Crispy Chicken in Tamarind Sauce, which I loved. The music was quite loud but that may have been to drown out the traffic. I will go back again. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Taste of Thailand:
I ordered for delivery, the restaurant is just 5 minutes from our office. They took the order and called back to say that we were out of their delivery area, which we are not. The order was not big enough for them, it was just above the minimum, and instead of just owning up, they cancelled. Definitely will never eat from here or here. Too bad for them, because sometimes we order for 40 people. Better to go to Nimman... View all feedback.
I ordered yesterday from the lunch menu. on the phone I was told the order with lemon suppe and fresh salat. instead we received suppe tom yum suppe, which really smells fishy. all three of us agreed suppe was sub par in taste. two were thrown out after tasting. there was no recognizable salate only many odours that were sprinkled on unrecognizable sweetness added to the main meal. chicken pad thai was also disappointing. for lunch only under not worth it. will not be ordered again by them!
This is my go-to Thai place in etobicoke. as vegetarian it is a bit difficult to eat everywhere, but here. the jump rolls should die. the veggie and tofu pad thai (yes, I mix both and put them without extra charge) is...expandable I have never waited more than minutes for my eating whether it has penetrated or withdrawn. I will always be served in time and the personal is always ready to make suggestions. at a point when I worked near (islington and bloor), after I tried several different places, our entire office has decided to choose taste of thailand as our regular Thai food outing place. everyone always ordered something different and everyone was always impressed by the quality, size and temperature of eating.
Don't let the building stop you from getting into this place. eating is absolutely amazing. it is as typical as they can get it. we went to lunch and have a daily menu. they can choose from an salad or a suppe for beginners....We have taken the suppe and it was a lemongrass spicy suppe. it was delicious! then they can choose a protein from huh, bark meat, garnel, or tofu with more than different possibilities to have it prepared. I took the chicken cashew nuts, and it was a generous part and really good. I highly recommend this place if you want to taste typical Thai food.
This place is really down in the last four years. it does not take rocket science or interpreter to understand that they have a ego, and they have a very cheap attitude towards paying customers. if I order Thai food, I like to order extra. dripping sauce. after I said that in the past, when I used this place above all, they gave me small containers of peanut sauce to go with my meal which is usually over because I order for me and others. I used skipthedishes to order with them last night, and I called them later to make sure they contain the extra peanut sauce that it is not on the menu. the woman on the handy understood and said no problem. I'm going from my phone just to get back to three missed phone calls from them. where the same woman tells me now the extra peanut sauce it will be per container. this is not a problem for me, but I let them know that there is not even an option when ordering skipthedishes, so I made it a special question in the additional comments, and therefore I have called myself to separate the question and to make it special. this little talk called a whole debate to tell her that it is so, and I have to pay in a separate transaction. but she did it very rude. when I talk to me, I'm too cheap to pay the extra dollar and this is with an order before her I just ordered to get delivered to me by skipthedishes. I then told her that I am a regular customer and that is not a way to treat customers and I got it in past free. She then tells me that this is just as it is, although it is not on the menu everywhere. when I told her that I am not happy as a customer she said “that’s okay, we have many customers.” the obtuse attitude of arrogance extremely annoying. all in all, I paid the additional fee on my credit card for the extra peanut sauce, but it is very clear to me that this place does not appreciate any business they give them. eating is with other thai I had what is why I can rate them as one, but I will not call them again, and I will go out of my way to find an alternative option in etobicoke. and glancing about other reviews this place had generated I see in not the one person that feels like that.
As you can see from my post below, I am (er... was) a regular at this restaurant. They have obviously changed hands: new sign, different staff, increased prices. Service was incredibly slow, and they forgot a dish (even though it was on the bill,...which they removed when I pointed it out). Food was not nearly as good, my chicken pieces were clearly packaged and microwaved, and the chicken satay were cut PERFECTLY consistently (not something done by hand usually). Asked for chopsticks twice and finally just got them myself, they were feet from our table. The incessant ringing of the phone and the sounds from the kitchen were irritating beyond measure. We will NOT go back again. It's too bad too, we have gone many times over the years and have taken lots of out of towners. Apparently they only care about Skip the Dishes now, but I suspect those customers are getting lower quality/higher prices too. Sadly we have to find another go-to Thai place.
