excellent facility and ambiente. lady server was fantastic! Eat: fritto misto was quite indispensable, deep fried and many batteries. pollo was dry, boiled and very salty sauce. pappardelle was good, but salty. I would expect more for the prices. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Sofia:
Unfortunately, we went in with high expectations because of the reviews, but they were not met. It took 30 minutes for us to be seated, even with a reservation. We were not acknowledged at the bar for over 15 minutes as well. The music was very loud, to the point that my partner and I could not hear eachother when conversing, even with a raised voice. This is probably the best Italian food I've ever had (and I've been to Italy). Every dish was amazing, from the truffle pasta to the lamb. The service was excellent too.
Everything from the excellent cocktails, amazing food and impeccable service. It was an overall wonderful experience for a special birthday. The vibe was sexy and lively, a perfect Toronto night out with the girls.
We have been to Sofia many times and unfortunately this was such an unpleasant visit. Hostess was rude to my guest and seemed to have an attitude problem (very impolite; seemed disinterested in her job, which has happened before with another one of their hostess’ . The woman who seemed to be the manager took the menus away before I even arrived, so I just ordered what my guest ordered. She also came up to give us with our bill and went on her phone right in front of us, texting, while we paid. Then our actual server (hard to tell who our server was, due to lack of adequate service came up and asked if how we would like to pay for our bill (he was the only polite staff we encountered .. when we had just paid. Then we saw the same manager giving much better service to the table right beside us; being so friendly and pleasant, when she was completely the opposite to us. On top of that, another server pushed her way right through us as she was delivering drinks to another table. As someone who has once worked within this industry, this was so disappointing and just plain rude.
