Beautiful place and great ambiance with friendly staff.Beef tartare was very nice and the corn dogs were delicious.Steak had a bit of a chew and a slight gamey flavor, but was overall very enjoyable and cooked perfectly. Their french fries may have been my favorite dish. Will definitely be back for another date night View all feedback.
What Shameeza A doesn't like about Rose and Sons Swan:
I went here to celebrate my anniversary with my husband. I had a serious craving for steak frites and based on the reviews, this was the place to get it. I was hugely disappointed. The beef was extremely salty and the fries were soggy and oily. It was not very pleasant to eat. I was surprised based on how much everyone praises this dish.We also ordered the fried chicken, tuna melt and oysters and enjoyed each. View all feedback.
Coffee is very good and Breakfast was delicious! Smashed Potato skillet and all day breakfast with a side of avocado. Service is lovely and attentive. Ambiance in this retro diner is everything. Brunch cocktails look carefully crafted. Patio in the back opens at 11am Do try this place!
My husband and I stopped in here for a Friday night meal and left satisfied, but not needing to go back. The menu is small, like the space - which makes it cozy and casual.I thought their cocktail list was great - small - but priced right.I had their peanut curry chicken and my husband their fried chicken. You can pick two sides for each main, so I tried the pumpkin grits and brussel sprouts, my husband the fried and mashed potatoes (he's not afraid of a potato:). The food was good, but not amazing. I did like the vibe and atmosphere and would pop in again if in the neighbourhood.
We came here for an impromptu dinner with one of our sons. Loved it. An old diner, no doubt, and oozing with character. The menus and food, though, are from Anthony Rose, the chef we love at Big Crow BBQ, and other restaurants around town. The menu is really simple, which we loved. Appetizers, and then $17.99 for one of the mains (5 or 6) with choice of two sides. All the food was amazing, and our son eats gluten-free, and they were very knowledgeable as to what he could or could not eat from the menu. I had the Southern Fried Chicken with slaw and duck salt fries. Everything was super yummy. The other two in our party had the BBQ chicken with curry and coconut, and they loved their meals. Reasonable priced cocktails at $6, $7 and $8. Good wine selection. A diner? Yup! But ampted WAY up. Had a great time.
Fantastic home-y atmosphere, very friendly staff and wonderful foodThe proximity to Trinity Bellwoods Park is also quite nice.
Food and drink: Do not get the donuts - there was more oil than pastry and it tasted stale.
