We searched for and found this little restaurant in Toronto's Chinatown. It was worth the visit. Each plate was tasty. We ate too much but walked it off. Don't miss this one if you are a dim sum lover. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Rol San:
Authentic food. Poor service. You have to know what you're doing when you go in. If you don't, you won't get help. It's almost like a cattle run. Funnel people in, feed them, funnel them out. The place is huge & was packed at lunch on a Thursday. The food is very good, tho. Just go prepared, ask for water, utensils & anything else you might need as soon as possible because trying to get the server's attention is impo... View all feedback.
Rol San serves, in my opinion, the very best dim sum in Chinatown! We go there mainly in the morning or early afternoon for dim sum. Because you order the dim sum instead of waiting around for a cart to show up, it always arrives table side hot and fresh. Standard dim sum staples such as har gow and sui mai are wonderful as are the more exotic kinds.<br/ <br/ The only downside is that sometimes the lineup to get in is long; however, always worth the wait and it usually moves quickly.<br/ <br/ Tip: the ambiance in the seating area at the back is better than the front.
It is always a delightful experience to have dim sum in Canada, especially on a chilly night like this. I have visited this restaurant twice and have never been disappointed. My partner and I enjoyed a variety of dishes for just $35, and we were impressed by the selection. The restaurant is clean, including the washrooms, and the tea served was tasty. My favorite dish from the dim sum menu was the pork ribs in black bean sauce, along with the meat and pork dumplings, fried dumplings, wings, and the standout dish - the squid tentacles. The squid was lightly battered and perfectly seasoned. This place is a must-visit on a cold day in Canada. The hot chili sauce was delicious and complemented the dishes well, except for the tea. While I personally am not a fan of seafood, my girlfriend enjoyed the squids in shrimp base sauce. Overall, a great dining experience.
A true Chinese cuisine experience with affordable prices. Amazing place to be and definitely try their pork buns, that's a must! The ambience was like a family restraunt and isn't a quite place at all, but the service was quick and the servers were friendly. The food was amazing.
Don 't come here for some 'authentic ' experience, don 't come here for a dining experience. Come here when you need to FEED yourself, because it 's awesome for doing just that. Great for late night hunger attacks (you the kind that follows a night of partying), great for Christmas day when everything else is closed, and great for waking up hungry on a Sunday and wanting some dim sum. It 's very a dependable and reliable Chinese food experience in Chinatown.
This restaurant is famous for its outstanding Dim Sum, but don't forget to also sample their regular dishes. The service is top-notch and the atmosphere is cozy. The food is consistently delicious. Whenever we are in the area, this is always one of our preferred dining spots.
