Budget friendly sushi restaurant. For the money you pay, you get plenty of food. Would it be same quality as $200 omakase course meal? Definately not. Was salmon on my sushi paper thin? Yes. Was it relatively fresh though? Yes. It was interesting to findout depending on where you order from, even though it is the same set menu, price, quantity and item choice vary. I wasinitially planning to take advantage of 1+1 Uber Eats deal, then I realized that you actually get a better deal from Doordash.Doordash deal was even better than ordeing from Monkey Sushi website. Monkey Special set C $16.95). Picked 5 pcs of salmonsushi, 5 pcs of tuna sushi, 1 gold dragon maki 6). Matsu Box $20.95). 1 green dragon maki 6), 3 salmon sashimi, 5 pcs of sushi salmon, tuna, tilapia but they call it red snapper) , crab shrimp), 2 shrimp 4 veggie tempura, 1 fried dumpling, 1 springroll, 1 pork katsu rice. They also provided 2 miso soup almost tasted like some kind of broth) I got another $5 off andended up paying $37.18 for pick up service not delivery). Was shocked by amount of food when I picked up. It literally made 4meals. Would I order it again if I crave for sushi but I don’t want to break my bank? Yes, I will.
Their sushi rolls are good enough. I ordered using uber multiple times. I tried dining in thinking my experience would be better because delivery affects freshness. But NOOO. The food here is so disgusting. Tempura was so gross, not fresh. I wastold it was frozen tempura. I tried their tempura twice. The first time I ordered, food was cold. Second time, I noticed thebatter was hard to chew—it tasted as if it’s days old and just reheated. I also noticed that the restaurant looks veryunsanitary. I will definitely not go back here, there is a better Japanese restaurant around Danforth-Pape area, near Starbucks. Please do yourselves a favor and by not wasting your money here. The only good thing I can say about their food is that theirmiso soup is delicious. Friendly and accommodating staff though.
Bright, cozy Japanese restaurant on Danforth Greek Town. First time trying Monkey Sushi at this location. Great customer service. Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Tried their 28 pieces sashimi sushi combo, bbq eels lovers combo and theirsignature shrimp tempura. Each combo came with a bowl of miso soup and a mixed green salad. Sashimi and sushi were fresh anddelicious. Assorted tempura came with 3 pieces of shrimp and 6 pieces of veggie. They were crispy, hot and cooked perfectly.Their Japanese green tea was charged separately. We ordered 2 and were not aware being charged till we received the bill.Overall experience was good. Will definitely visit again to other dishes on menu.
I've ordered from Monkey Sushi multiple times off of Uber Eats due to their constant buy one get one free combo deals. You get a lot of sushi for the price that you pay, so the rating is definitely boosted due to the value not the quality. Especially if youhave the Uber Eats Pass, this place will really be the best bang for your buck. I have never dined in, so I cannot comment ontheir atmosphere inside. The quality of their sushi is average, more on the side of all you can eat sushi. I have never had abad experience with them but sometimes, their delivery times can be a bit longer than I would like. The combo in my photo istheir Monkie Special Set for $22.95 where you pick 3 rolls/sushi/sashimi/hand rolls of your choice. This combo comes with misosoup as well. It is usually buy one get one free, so you can get two sets of it for that price. Here, we have their Crazy Dragonroll, Spicy Salmon and Tuna roll (it wasn't spicy but had crispy bits in it) and 2 pieces of fresh salmon nigiri.
Ordered delivery via ubereats buy one get one free offer and it was decent for what we got, keeping in mind it was pretty much half price, costing us $40 instead of $80. Order was timely and arrived within the given time window. The monkie special setincludes 1 hand roll, and your choice of a few pieces of nigiri or rolls. We got the sea dragon roll which was pretty good andhad quite a bit of eel and avocado. The nigiri sushi was pretty good as well. Overall everything was pretty fresh upondelivery. Our favourite was the hot fusion roll. It's sort of a torched salmon roll and was very flavourful. So for $40, thiswas definitely worth it. If they didn't have the BOGO offer.. Debatable.

Yesterday, I went to this restaurant for lunch and had a good overall experience. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box for $11.95, while my husband ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box for $12.95. The prices were quite reasonable considering the generous portions that came with miso soup and 6 California maki rolls. The food was worth the price, although I felt that the chicken, rice, and tempura vegetables could have used a bit more salt. Despite this, I still believe it was a great deal and I will definitely be returning in the future.
My order was never delivered, yet I was still charged for it. The order was being prepared which is why I never received my food, so I decided to cancel. However, they are attempting to charge me more than the original bill to cancel. I have disputed this transaction with my bank and I expect them to rectify the situation. I didn't receive any of the 4 different items I had ordered.
I went there twice already. Nice food with reasonable prices and huge portion! It’s busy and they get orders online all the time so it’s a bit noisy with the rings. However, if you don’t mind it’s not the best atmosphere but just want to be very full and not spending a lot of money, that’s the right place to go!
You can do better elsewhere. The taste is not the very best. It’s what you’ll receive for a “decent” price.
