Matisse Marriott Toronto Bloor Yorkville

I made a reservation for Mother's Day brunch and it was extremely disappointing. There was no brunch menu, just the regular hotel brunch options (which explains why it was so easy to get a reservation a month in advance). I chose this restaurant for its convenient location, but that turned out to be a big mistake. The servers were somewhat pleasant, but the food was only mediocre and came at a very high price. Our brunch consisted of 2 coffees, a shared grilled calamari appetizer, 2 Caesar salads (one with grilled chicken and one with grilled shrimp), no dessert, and no alcoholic beverages, all for a total of CAD$96 including tax. I was shocked when I saw the bill. In short: never again.

I had lunch and dinner at Matisse. The service was outstanding both times, and the food was delicious! The chef went above and beyond to create gluten and dairy-free entrees for my wife that were fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Food was very good to good. Was happy with service but was disappointed the waiters did not offer to bring the birthday cake out out of the box. Rather they just put the unopened box on the table which I thought was very odd. I understand them not cutting and serving but not taking it out of the box?

Food and service were fine, but the payment was a hassle as the wireless terminal would not connect to complete the transaction which forced us to use USD to pay the CAD bill. Not sure the exchange was done correctly.
