Somebody in the kitchen really knows how to do pizza. Old school, hand tossed, perfect. Hostess was polite, informal and friendly - teased me about being from the States. I hosted a business lunch here that was casual without being sloppy - just enough room...More View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Mangia & Bevi:
Take note of the address and location info as it is not visible from King street. Descent casual atmosphere, not a quiet romantic setting, but not too loud either. Server was great, juggled numerous tables efficiently, politely and professionally. Antipasto board was very good, really liked the Apple Maple butter, it was a nice surprise. Neapolitan style pizzas were good. They don't list their pasta types. Pasta is f... View all feedback.
Great pizzas and a great little patio on a quiet side street off King E. Small but proper wine list, and authentic pastas. Pizzas are creatively topped and tasty charred on the edges and soft in the middle.Construction noise does somewhat dampen the ambience but then go after 7 when it’s shut down that’s not the restaurant’s fault. Great food, we had the antipasto misto, a margherita pizza, the lasagna and the tiramisu. All wonderfully fresh and delicious tasting. Nice service, the server was very friendly and helpful, she gave good wine recommendations based on our preferences and let us taste two to help us with our choice. Was a little bit of a wait to get our bill as it had started getting busier in the restaurant, but didn’t mind as the atmosphere was very relaxed and enjoyable.
There are very few authentic Italian food experiences in the GTA. In a beautiful hidden location is this truly authentic restaurant that offers up amazing fare. The staff are passionate and gregarious. The decor is subtle and yet truly authentic... This is not North American Italian... This is a beautiful replication of a rustic kitchen in a historic town of Italy, where the tables are ready, and the warmth and welcome is waiting for you. The carpaccio.. to die for.... The pasta... Not your North American fare where you bloat horribly... The pizza ...a beautiful crust that features the toppings..not the bread. You need to go here... They are passionate about bringing family dinners to their patrons... Food, laughter and love.Sure the prices might seem high... But if you understand the cost of quality food items and the skill of creating and cooking this... You get it. Once you try... You truly get it.GO!
One of the few traditional and authentic Italian Restaurants remaining in Downtown Toronto. Casual Italian fare made by Italians. Can't go wrong!
I dined at Mangia Bevi tonight and tried the beet and spinach salad, the carpaccio salad, and the funghocrema pasta. The salads were delicious, but I found that the pasta was a bit too dense and could have used more mushrooms. The service was very attentive, but my main issue was that one of the servers was not wearing a mask, which made me uncomfortable. Despite being good at her job, I personally choose not to dine in a restaurant where the servers do not wear masks.
