Perhaps that's reflected in the price.... read more I ordered the chicken satay bao and big bird bao at this restaurant. The food was tasty, but the portion size was small. Perhaps that's reflected in the price. I particularly enjoyed their delicious buns. The satay chicken had a nice sweet flavor, while the big bird was nicely spiced. Overall, the food was very flavorful.

The portions of the condiments were a bit small, but I understand that this is not Singapore. I found it unique that all the food was served in cardboard boxes. I'm not sure why they didn't use regular plates and cutlery for dine-in customers.

Considering the quality, labelin... read more As for the dish itself, it consisted of a small portion of non-spicy Sambal and over-seasoned, excessively salty fried chicken. Considering the quality, labeling the dish as overpriced would be an understatement. The more I reflect on it, the more upset I become. Although it may sound like I am promoting their competitors, I can't help but suggest that if you're craving Nasi Lemak and don't want to travel far, head to the Dragon City Mall in Chinatown. They offer a more authentic, visually appealing dish at a reasonable price, complete with a soup and drink. You won't leave feeling as frustrated and disrespected as I did after dining at Makan. Makan, if you are unable to provide your customers with quality Nasi Lemak, then don't offer it at all. Waiting over an hour for a subpar dish is unacceptable. (By the way, I ordered a double portion of chicken, but the regular portion appeared nothing like the picture.)

I don't know why the server... read more Poor service or lack thereof. We ordered the Rendang Chicken bao and was informed it was out. Then tried Big Bird which was out too. I don't know why the server can't just let us know what is out before we order again. In the end, we settled for the Curry Chicken Bao. And the Notorious PIG (or so we thought).Bad taste in the mouth before we even got our food. We also ordered two Nasi Lemak and were told they will take a 20 min wait.In the end, they forgot the Notorious PIG Bao. Sad really, after waiting for 25 min.In all fairness, the food tasted quite nice. The Nasi Lemak is authentic, hence the extra star. But the portions were pitifully small, including the miniscule amount of sambal chilli in the Nasi Lemak.Not sure if any food deserves such a poor experience. Save your money and grief and go somewhere else.Alternatively, do delivery and prepare for small portions. That might make the experience a bit better.
