Feedback
A recent dining experience at this restaurant proved to be a mixed bag. While some visitors found the food below average and the service rushed, others praised the ambiance and food quality, especially for seafood lovers. A private dining room option was somewhat disappointing for another group due to inconsistent service and tough steak. Despite some service delays and mediocre food, there were also positive reviews about friendly staff, excellent cocktails, and standout dishes like the tuna. The location, ambiance, and overall food quality received mixed feedback, with some considering a return visit for specific menu items.
Had a team of about 15 of us for dinner. Enjoyed their private room for dinner. Great friendly service, a little slow sometimes for drinks as it backed up behind what else was going on in the bar We also had two folks that asked for something from the normal menu not the set menu that had been chosen. This needed manager approval?? Odd. Starter (beet Salad) and main (flat iron steak) were great. panacotta here was very different to what I know of this. All in all. Enjoyed it. Would go back.
Good food and fair price. Loved the truffle oil on my fried potatoes. Very close to the Princess of Whales Theatre and in the heart of Toronto.
I ate here with my brother before seeing a show next door at the Princess of Whales. It was a week day so it was not busy at all. We really liked the decor of the place. Modern, and we were given a huge table even though it was just two of us. The menu was fantastic. For starters we had the bison tartare and the mussels and they were really good! We both had the pork entree which we would definitely recommend. We also had a *wee* bit of wine, which was good. The server, Megan, was excellent and very friendly. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place and will likely return!
We celebrated our anniversary at Luma and had a wonderful experience. The service was excellent; the staff was attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. Both the manager and our server were professional and genuinely cared about providing great service. We truly enjoyed our anniversary celebration here! 100% recommendable. Went to Luma for their Summerlicious dinner menu before catching a show nearby. It’s located on the second floor of the TIFF building. The dining room is quite spacious, and they also have a balcony patio that offers additional outdoor seating. It was a beautiful warm day, so it was great to sit outside. We were originally seated indoors, but I really appreciated our server asking if we’d prefer to move outside to enjoy the weather. For my appetizer, I had the split pea soup, which was surprisingly flavourful and satisfying. The pistachios added a nice bit of texture, and the whipped feta brought some extra depth to the dish. I did wonder how it might have tasted served warm, and if there were any whole peas in the mix. For the main course, I went with the sirloin steak. The creamed corn was delicious, and the vegetables were nicely charred. Unfortunately, the steak itself was overcooked it came out medium when I had asked for medium rare. I initially requested it rare, but they mentioned they couldn’t accommodate that due to their sous vide process. We let the staff know, and they were very apologetic they ended up comping our drinks, which was a thoughtful gesture. For dessert, I tried the Black Forest cake. It wasn’t my favourite it felt too dense and heavy after the meal. I was hoping for something a bit lighter to finish things off. Meal type: Dinner Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
