**Dining on the Danforth: A Tale of Culinary Contrasts** The Danforth welcomes a mix of new dining experiences, showcasing both triumphs and trials. With a cozy, classy ambiance and inventive cocktails, some venues excel in creative dishes and attentive service, drawing loyal patrons eager for innovative flavors. However, others struggle with inconsistencies; patrons report overcooked meals, stale bread, and oversight in orders, coupled with sky-high prices for drinks. While many appreciate the friendly staff and accommodating kitchen, the limited menu and lack of execution in some dishes leave room for improvement. As these restaurants evolve, the hope remains for a refined local dining scene.
The food, service, and atmosphere were fantastic, as usual. I’m confident this restaurant will reopen and reinvent itself in the new year. Since the same owner and chef are involved, I’m excited to see what they have planned!
We had an absolutely wonderful experience at Judaline! Our server was incredibly kind and cheerful. When my sister-in-law, who has a disability, accidentally broke a glass, the staff handled it with understanding and quickly cleaned it up—there was no embarrassment at all. The chef also went above and beyond to accommodate my allergies, resulting in an amazing meal! We brought my mother-in-law for her birthday, and she was thrilled with the experience. We can’t wait to see what the next menu change brings!
This is my favorite restaurant to return to! I'm always thrilled to see what's new on the menu, and I love trying a variety of dishes. On this visit, we started with Serrano ham and Manchego cheese, accompanied by focaccia and eggplant tahini dip. For our main courses, we had the fan-favorite Brussels sprouts, a gorgonzola, walnut, and pear salad, as well as the risotto and crispy tofu dishes. Everything was delicious, and the service was as attentive and excellent as ever. A little secret I learned is to add vodka to the violet nimbus mocktail; my friend claims it's the best cocktail she’s ever tasted! I highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends—it's a must-visit spot in Toronto!
The food was under salted and was bland. There was no hot sauce. By no fault of their own, they were down a server and so service was also terribly slow.
Good food and attentive service in a charming space. They made a mistake with our appetizer order, and more than made it up for us.
