The homemade beef patties at this restaurant are the best I've ever tasted. The plantains are delicious and the fried and jerk chicken are also excellent choices. The owner is friendly and welcoming. View all feedback.

This is a go-to spot for me when I'm feeling excessively hungry and know I'll have plenty of leftovers for the next day. The portions here are enormous and filling, I only need to eat half to feel satisfied. Despite knowing this, I couldn't resist adding an extra patty to my order of j chicken roti during my most recent visit. Even with just half of the dish, I was completely stuffed. The flavors of the dish were well balanced with a moderate level of heat, and the roti held everything together perfectly. I ordered through the app and picked up my food, and appreciated that the container was wrapped in paper towel to prevent any spillage during transit.
A nice and cozy area. A great walk in, with no tables. It's small but a gem place. Amazing taste
Another place for cheap eats in downtown Toronto (inside Village by the Grange) Food taste great and the portions are huge. The J Chicken with Rice and Beans is the bomb! It's smoky, moist, sweet and spicy at the same time. You can ask them to replace one of your J Chicken with a Fried Chicken so you can try them both. I also ask them to put the oxtail sauce on top coz it gives additional flavour to the food. It also comes with a side of Coleslaw which I love so much. Creamy and sweet, this is not your usual vinegary coleslaw. But it's so refreshing and complements the spiciness in the j chicken.
J King serves an outstanding saucy j chicken on rice and peas that packs a spicy punch. The coleslaw that comes with it is a great pairing to cool it off. They don't skimp on the meat either as it's two large pieces of juicy chicken. Another sweet deal inside Village by the Grange as it's ONLY $6. It's the deal posted on the storefront that drew us away from another restaurant to give them a try, so it may just be a lunchtime special for in-person pickup. There is no lineup and quite dead in the food court during lunch. I remember trying this place a long time ago, and it was kind of forgettable. Maybe because they didn't top it with the sauce then, so be sure to get it! It's my fav j chicken spot at the moment. There are many great spots to grab j chicken, but this is the spot for you, if you also like a bold flavour saucy chicken. I can't describe this sauce... it's familiar, but I can't pinpoint how to describe it. Similar to adobo? I love it and will be coming back for more!
