Goodfellas - Toronto

I ordered a pizza and risotto for pick up from here and the pizza was very soggy and under cooked. The risotto was bland and underwhelming. Overall, I would not order from here again based on my experience with the food

Went for a stroll in streetsville and decided to stop by Goodfellas. It was definitely a high point of the visit. The pizza is authentic italian (based on my visit long ago to Italy. Sat outside on the patio and ordered the margherita pizza and the diavolo pizza. Antonio was our server and at first i was worried he was only worried about his regulars. However he quickly put us at ease, talking to us like we were regulars ourselves. Like I said the pizzas were authentic. There were four of us (2 kids) but two personal pizzas were large enough. Antonio convinced my wife to try that cannoli, and she had to admit that they were the best she ever tasted. When we left we walked across the street, and forgot my son's hat and some cookies we bought. He looked around for us and we saw him and my 12 yr old son went to meet him in the middle of the crosswalk. He handed the stuff to my son and then with complete seriousness, made sure he walked promptly and directly back to us. Will definitely stop in there again next time in streetsville, either the whole family or just the adults.

We were to go out for a business lunch because we missed Christmas. We ordered a selection of apps and pizza. Great pizza.

I have visited Goodfellas with my daughter on Civic Monday for the first time and probably will not be in a hurry to return. Both of us truly liked the rustic and cozy feel of the place and even liked the idea that we will be sitting next to open kitchen - just across from wood burning pizza oven. We chose Goodfellas for our visit specifically for the Neapolitan style pizza, as they claim it is. Very soon after our arriving, we witnessed a very unpleasant scene going on in the kitchen. One of the servers came to inquire about pizza which was taking too long, only to get the answer from the pizza cook that he will leave everything and go home if she wants to hurry him. She looked at him without saying a word and he kept on how he can find job like that easily and that if she wants fast food it will not be quality food. We were appalled at his attitude and it showed that he is not happy with his job, so I already lowered my expectations. When our pizzas arrived, they were good but - except for being made in the wood burning oven, there was nothing special about them. Both pizzas were hard to cut, no resemblance to the amazing Neapolitan crust that I was craving so much - soft and fluffy - this one was too thin and too tough, but edible, at least. I was not impressed with how the toppings were distributed - it seemed that ham was only in one part, artichokes were in another and too big chunks of it, honestly - I am pretty sure I could have done a better job making it at home myself, for probably I would have put more love and care into the process then the guy making it for us. Or server was quite nice and we ate our meal, so those are the reasons for 2 stars. Sadly, this could be a good place, I hope that reviews will help them get better organised and improve on the quality.
