Was Anonym at Flock a mag?
This was a highlight of my eating in TO. A nice break from heavier food in a quiet area with a beautiful trendy environment and lovely outdoor deck. It's a simple menu with lovely options. The chicken is amazing in all the ways they offer it. A salad bowl is lively and tasty. The biscuits are to die for and the desserts even more so!!! View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Flock:
Came to the Richmond St. Location for lunch one day as I wanted to try something new. Ordered the only chicken sandwich they had on the menu and a side of sweet potatoes (thought they would be fries but they weren’t) Ended up paying over $15. The sandwich itself was good. I didn’t need to get the side as the sandwich was pretty filling, but I wanted to try the sweet potatoes. They were just meh- and I needed a fork t... View all feedback.
Had a large salad with quinoa and a chicken leg. This was so good and healthy. The chicken melts in your mouth. The only drawback is this is more like a quick eat place with no table space to sit down. They only have stools around the perimeter which means you're better off taking it back with you when crowded. They are generous with portions and, again, very tasty.
Great wait service. The waiter explained the menu/concepts very well. He was so excited about the menu options - it is nice to see a waiter who is enthusiastic about the food. We (a party of five) ordered the following: Fried chicken dinner, which came with five pieces of chicken, a biscuit and a cabbage slaw; a whole salad to share, mac and cheese and fries. All of the dishes were excellent except we thought the fried chicken was too fried, perhaps a little burnt. It was moist on the inside but the outside was not appealing. The Boho Flock salad is wonderful - we are trying to imitate it at home now. We ended up ordering additional fries and biscuits - all were great. The over fried chicken brought this rating down from a five to a four.
It was Canada Day, and my food apps didn't seem to know it. After the first couple of recommended places that the apps said were open turned out not to be, we just wandered till we found something open. My friend and I were attracted by the inviting exterior of Flock, but my husband was arguing for a Chinese restaurant next door because I'm vegetarian and he assumed there would be few choices for me in a place called Flick with a chicken decorating theme. Fortunately there was a menu posted and I could see non-chicken choices, so we went in. The place is clean, very pleasant inside. There is an outside patio and at the request of customers after us, the staff quickly dried off furniture from the recent rain so they could be out there. My friend ordered the fried chicken, which consisted of 5 pieces of chicken. He was sure he wouldn't eat it all but with my husband's help it all vanished. My husband had the fried chicken Sammy (sandwich), and they both declared their meals to be very good, and noted the garlicky breading on the chicken which they very much liked. As for veg me, they have 5 different salads or bowls and I had a hard time picking one. With the server's help, I chose the Power bowl and added avocado (you can choose other things to add, like -surprise! - chicken). It was great! Lettuce and shaved Brussel sprouts, roasted chickpeas, black beans and edamame, carrots..the list goes on, all with a lovely vinaigrette dressing that did not drown the ingredients. Each bowl comes in 2 sizes, the small was quite sufficient for me. They also had a vegan soup, as another option, and bar service-neither of which we tried. The staff was helpful and attentive. I really liked the place, and recommend it to both meat and non-meat eaters.
