Just happened to find this place while walking downtown. It was busy on the Friday night that we were there. The staff were very pleasant and took our order quickly. We ordered the guacamole ( of course ) and it was delicious. The perfect combination of ripe avocado, lime and cilantro. We also tried the tacos and the bowl of spicy chicken, rice, vegetables and a hint of heat. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant. View all feedback.
I had dinner with a friend on a Thursday night .... when we arrived the noise level was acceptable for a conversation, by the time we left more than 2 hours later we had to scream to hear each other. I know that music gives the restaurant a nice vibe but we were really screaming at each other. The menu has good options. The nachos were OK (guacamole very good), the short rib very tasty but the rice/corn side tasteless. My friend said the lamb burrito was quite good with it was huge. The tacos looked nice - I think you'd need 2 for a meal (3 if you are really hungry).Attention to service declined as the restaurant filled up, not enough staff . They have happy hour deals on beverages (drinks
My friends and I really enjoyed this restaurant. My margaritas were good - though maybe just a little too much ice. We were steered towards the burrito bowl with lamb and I'm so glad - I enjoyed every mouthful. Excellent value and great service. A little noisy again - but I'm super sensitive to this.
This place is horrible. It was not busy for lunch, maybe 5 tables total and the service was so slow. How long should it take for nacho chips with dips? It took 25-30 minutes. The mains were not ready at the same time. The soup is not a soup, it is a bowl of mush. We ordered the juice of the day and the ingredients had not been turned into juice yet (not delivered by 12:30). So, we ordered cranberry and soda. After 20 minutes waiting, we were told the soda machine was not working and there was no cans of soda water. Make a third pick - water! That cannot go wrong. Also, the cutlery is wrapped in a napkin on the table. You unwrap the napkin and may find green leafy stuff on a fork - like we did. This place was a train wreck. There are much better Mexican food restaurants in Toronto.
Although the menu looked promising this restaurant failed to serve. We walked in, were not waited on and the music was so loud we decided to look elsewhere.
We were in town visiting from the US and were looking for a good Mexican restaurant for lunch. El Local Loco came recommended from an employee of a nearby brewery so we gave it a try. We all ended up getting one form of their burritos and they were all delicious, from the chorizo to the vegetarian. The only thing we wish had been different was the very, very long wait period between when we ordered and when the food was brought out. It felt like forever! Otherwise, it was a great lunch!
