Dumplings are very good, and the rest of the food was surprisingly good as well. Decor, well, none to speak of... but it reminds me a lot of similar little places I've eaten at in China, Hong Kong and around Asia. If they decorated they would feel the need to charge more, and who needs that? The nice thing, especially next to the theatre, is this is the kind of place you can just drop in, grab a quick plate of dumplings, with no big expectations about you ordering a major meal. If you want a snack before the show this is a great option. I do agree with one of the other reviewers that Dumpling King in Chinatown makes a better dumpling, but the difference isn't so great that's its worth going out of your way if you are in the area already especially if you are looking to grab a bite before or after a show next door!

Plain ordinary, the skin is too thick it falls off easily, the fillings are minimal with a lotta flavouring (MSG? . They're okay, the place is a dump too. Perhaps that's a spin on the word Dump- ling.

We have taken many friends and family there as well and they have all rema... read more We have been many times to the Dumpling Queen and have had excellent food every time. We have taken many friends and family there as well and they have all remarked about the food. It's a family run, small restaurant right on Yonge, roughly half way between Wellsley and Bloor. It's easy to get to by subway, car or on foot. Two ladies make the dumplings fresh with each order and they are then carried to the back where they are either boiled or deep fried to your specification. They also have the best Won Ton soup I have ever tasted. Great dry fried green beans, other soups, rice dishes....you name it, they have it. And it is all excellent. I would recommend this place to anybody.
