Top notch! Everything from flavour, to service and ambiance was at the top! All the praise to our server sorry, not sure of the name) and the Manager Greg! Definitely worth the drive from Niagara Falls! View all feedback.
What Elva Mitchell doesn't like about Copa by Sea:
The servers were very attentive and friendly. We were provided with several recommendations which we took although weren't ask pleased with these choices as the server's excitement made them sound. Even taking into account that inflation is high, the prices were excessive and portions small. We'll likely opt to go somewhere else the next time we're in the mood for South American food. 20 of us from work had our Christmas party here on Saturday evening. The lighting, music and ambiance are very conducive to a GOOD TIME. Great selection of beer and wine and some very special cocktails. The salad bar buffet is outstanding with lots of tasty temptations. Circulating waiters carve meat at your table until you are fit to burst. The entertainment is brief but lots of fun. I never saw so many body parts go in so many directions at the same time - nuff said! The only slight downer is that your time is limited to about two hours but by that time you are sated. I did not pay a dime so I cannot speak to value but I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Great food, prompt service and more great food. Good atmosphere and great variety. Not cheap but good value for what you get.
We went out to Copa Cabana for my daughters birthday last evening some of us had never been before but my daughter and her boyfriend were repeat customers. They raved about what a great place this was and how much food they give you. My experience was that first of all they didn't have the first two drink choices I requested, the first being a caipirinha( told the large party before drank it all?!!) and the second drink they didn't have the ingredients? The meal starts off with you helping yourself to the salad bar, some nice salads here ( Caesar salad, baby spinach with strawberries and blackberries, squash salad and cheese and cold meats) They also have lasagne, mashed potatoes, rice and macaroni and cheese. Once you return to your table they come around with an assortment of meats that they slice off skewers at the table ( chicken, lamb shanks, sausage, prime rib, salmon and a variety of steak) The amount of steak they slice for you is quite thin although , you can ask for more if you wish. A lot of the meat is coated with a cheese crust or stuffed with cheese. There is no salt or pepper on the table and no sauces for the meat. The only dessert they offer is grilled pineapple and deep fried bananas. Our server came only twice to the table inquiring about drinks and seemed to be very disorganized, this was Monday and I could only imagine what the weekends must be like!! Personally if I order steak I want a nice piece of meat that I can enjoy and not be taste testing all night and trying to catch the eye of the meat carvers. My daughters boyfriend loves this place and stated he couldn't understand how they could be making money!!! That's easy serve up bite sized pieces of meat until you either get tired of asking for the meat you want or are full from eating the salad bar. We never did receive the two coloured paddles that our server said she would bring us to indicate if we wanted a break or more meat. As I said this was a Monday evening and not busy and we had to search for the meat carvers. One the plus side if it's you're actual birthday you eat for free ( with proper ID) This location is open every day for dinner, there's a location downtown that has all the seafood you can eat ( don't think lobster, crab or shrimp) but only opened on the weekend. Would I return...no! As I stated I like a nice piece of steak that I can sink my teeth into and not shavings from a carvers skewer...I somehow felt that I was skewered!!
So Ive been planning to come to Copa by sea for a while now and decided to take my partner for his bday given that we both love seafood. We have been to Copacabana a couple times before and loved their steak and chicken menu but this time we wanted to try the seafood. We were seated at a very nice booth because it was his bday and we ordered our drinks from the bar, mine was the caipirinha and his was something else I cant remember but it tasted delicious! After that we were presented with the menu that to our surprise didn't include lobster or crab but the variety was reasonable. We started with the shrimp mac and cheese and immediately knew the food was gonna be AMAZING! our favorite from the menu was the sipicy Chilean seabass, wow!! what and incredible mix of flavours! The ambiance was nice, great music, comfy booth and good lighting. The service was superb! We had Mailee as our server and the boys, Gary and Sailal made our night even more enjoyable with the smiles and excellent customer service. At the end of the night they brought a special dessert for us and brought the "dessert" menu. The only thing id like to suggest and the only reason why I don't give it a 5 star rating is the dessert selection, They only have grilled bananas and grilled pineapple, nothing really sweet per say. Other than that everything was incredible!
If you've ever been to All you can eat Brazilian steakhouses, this is the equivalent for seafood. Excellent food and cocktails. Large menu with sushi, oysters, and variety of cooked items too.
