We went with some friends Friday night. It was a good experience. The service was very good, actually we was impressed with how many people work there. The food is well plated and well made. The menu is chic and variety. My husband ordered a fish, he didn't like the sides but he ate the entire fish. I order a steak and was delightful. View all feedback.
What Michael L doesn't like about Cluny Bistro and Boulangerie:
I used to enjoy dining here years ago. The atmosphere and ambience is fantastic feels like you're not in Toronto. With that being said, the handful of times over the years that I've been back for meetings, lunch, or dinner I've noticed a steady decline in the service and food. While browsing around the Distillery District on a Sunday we came upon this gem of a restaurant for brunch. We ordered the bread basket which came with plenty of butter and was delicious! Our drinks and dishes arrived quickly and were hot!! The wait staff were helpful and friendly. Loved the atmosphere! It was clean! Will look forward to visiting in the future! It's a bit pricey, but such a great treat!
Love it here. Lovely decor and ambience, not loud (so many places you end up having to shout), and very good food. The service was slow and not attentive but otherwise it was great.Vegetarian options: The aubergines was excellent.
My partner was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2022. After one year of fighting this terrible disease and knowing we had limited time, we decided to elope and host our intimate wedding at Cluny on a Monday (in the early afternoon). We planned and booked the wedding in less than 1 month while battling cancer and raising our 1 year old son.Our event specialist was very understanding of the situation. She responded quickly to our last minute requests and was readily available. I appreciate her professionalism and how we were able to organize the wedding in a quick and efficient manner. However, I wish it stated upfront that the patio (where the ceremony would be taking place) is near the loading docks and the train tracks that there could be trucks and deliveries, and it can be loud and disturbing during the ceremony. There was a mention that we may require a portable sound system to have music outside but not to block out possible noises. Although the harpist brought her portable sound system and microphone, I still couldn't hear her music, the officiant messages, or my dying husband's vows. It's a bit upsetting. You can see in the attached video that you can only hear the sound pollution.Nevertheless, once we moved the party indoors, everything went great. The food and servers were excellent, and in the end, we enjoyed ourselves.Just a word of caution if you wish to host your event on the PDR patio, please know that you may experience some sound pollution that is out of the restaurant's control. Had I known, I would have moved the ceremony indoors or picked another venue to host my intimate wedding.
This place is amazing! The atmosphere is elegant and cosy. The service was perfect and the food is so good! We had a brunch (Salmon Tower and Omelette du jour). We had a wonderful time! Pain au chocolat approved by two French girls ?

Most notably the hanger steak that was the go to. It was a good price and a tasty option. Now the steak options feel underwhelming and over priced. We would be offered extra bread/baguette for the pate everything's increased 20 30% in price. The pappardelle pasta was undercooked and wild boar sauce was watery. I probably won't be back for the food. It's still worth coming here for a glass of wine or cocktail in the outdoor dining area.
