Very comfortably decorated. It looked so dark from the outside I thought it was closed, but inside it was cozy and cool on a hot day. Chicken tinga burrito was nice, and the two kinds of homemade salsa served with it were both delicious. Service was cheerful, generous and warm. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Chacho's Restaurant:
The Enchiladas and Fajitas we ordered were hot and tasty, although not exceptional. We have had better Mexican food in Mexico and California, so our standards may be a bit high. The waitress seemed overwhelmed with her duties, at times only wearing one shoe and forgetting orders. Our neighbors also experienced a long wait for their order of Churros, which was frustrating as they had young children with them.

We were looking for a quiet Mexican cuisine place on a Friday day and were not disappointed. The restaurant is located on a quiet street in midtown. Looked like most of the visitors were local residents. The service was very friendly and pretty good overall. The food had a homey touch, everything was fresh and tasty. The portions were good sized and reasonably priced. Will likely return for another visit.
I lived in Mexico for 5 years and I really miss the food. When I ordered my enchiladas and took a bite... I was transported back to Mexico City. The food was so good and tasted just like "home." The service was a bit slow... but the servers are from Mexico and the style is more like what you would find there - the service is more relaxed. I would skip the margarita but if you like tequila, they have some good ones to sip on and they are not too expensive. My friend loved her paloma (grapefruit and tequila). My girlfriends enjoyed their food too. The music was Mexican and the whole atmosphere just made me feel like I was back home. This was not TexMex, this tasted like Abuela made it! It is a bit isolated and not around anything else but highrise buildings. There was plenty of street parking on the Saturday night. It was no trouble to make a reservation but I recommend making one just to be sure. If you live in the Yonge and Davisville area, you need to check this out!
This is a Mexican Restaurant, you will find very tasty food, best fish tacos, delicious guacamole and the BEST margarita in town, prepared with fresh ingredients. You may have to wait a little longer, because everything is prepare on the spot.
I was desperately hoping for a good experience at Chaco's, as I visit the area around Merton and Mt. Pleasant frequently. I was disappointed. But first, the positives: nice decor, nice soft Mexican music, nice to see soccer on the TV screen (with its sound turned off). Unfortunately, service was average at best. I ordered the beef taco special of the day. When it ultimately came, it was just a bit more than appetizers at some Mexican restaurants. With the first bite, I came across a large piece of gristle - very off-putting. The rest of the three small tacos were average in taste. Waiter did not pay a visit until the end. The place only had three other tables in action, so it wasn't as if he was run off his feet. Definitely not value for money. Next time? There is a pub just a few doors away!
