Some time ago we had lunch here and were surprised at the high prices charged for 'Just OK ' pub fare. But things have taken a decided turn for the better. View all feedback.
What Jennifer Toth doesn't like about Boo Radley's:
My experiences have varied so much here that it's disappointing. However, I would consider it a decent watering hole, and will present my concerns regarding their food menu. The prices are on par with a lot of restaurants & bars in Toronto, however for the area it may be a bit on the high side.Dinners were relatively enjoyable, albeit smaller portions than I would like but brunch has been incredibly disappointing. Nash moved a couple blocks West of where he was so now we have a whole new area of food to explore. Our first stop was this very homey place called Boo Radley’s, named after the mysterious character from To Kill a Mocking Bird. The menu has a lot of familiar comfort foods such as the Pulled Pork Sandwich I ordered. I also had a side of Cream of Asparagus Soup.<br/ <br/ Nash’s pick the special of the day: a jerk tilapia with blueberry salsa was the best thing ever. It’s interesting that they have familiar things on the menu but offered such an interesting special that night! The fish was tender, moist and delicious and I loved the seasoning. Even the salsa was very good.<br/ <br/ We couldn’t resist the dessert of the day, a French toast bread pudding with ice cream. We shared one but we sort of wish we got two because we licked the bowl clean!<br/ <br/ This place will definitely be our new regular hangout!
The food is average, but the service is exceptional. The burgers lack flavor and are bland. The atmosphere is quite nice.
Intent: somewhere with pub food and beer for a reasonable price. What I got: A friendly greeting with a run down of the specials as soon as I stepped in to check it out for the 5 of us before we came in. Was sold on having the Sunday Prime Rib dinner. Was under $20 from what I can recall and a generous thick slice of perfectly cooked prime rib aside a mountain of from scratch garlic mashed potatoes. Friends with me enjoyed everything from perfect gnocchi to burgers and fries. Very refreshing pub to serve such fairly priced dishes aside fair priced beverages. They truly deserve to be busy!
This menu has changed and is apparently being improved again in a couple of days. Food is great and the owners couldn't be nicer.
Some time ago we had lunch here and were surprised at the high prices charged for 'Just OK ' pub fare. But things have taken a decided turn for the better.<br/ <br/ We 've been using the patio as an 'office away from the home office ' during this very hot summer. It 's perfectly shaded and catches the breeze nicely, allowing us to enjoy the lazy, hazy crazy days o summer and still get work done good wireless and good, cold drinks).<br/ <br/ As importantly, they 've lowered their prices and the food quality has improved. Excellent steak sandwich, very good burger, and a nice range of appetizers. The pizza served after 5 pm) looks great, as does the fish and chips BTW, just had some outstanding fries with a steak sammy today). Both are on our 'Boo To Do ' list.
