Bloom Cafe offers a delightful selection of Japanese beverages and desserts. They have an extensive array of matcha treats, including matcha puffs, matcha yuzu cake slices, matcha daifuku, and matcha sundaes. If you're a fan of matcha, this cafe is likely the top spot in Toronto for matcha, sencha, and hojicha lattes. This cafe has a lovely atmosphere, but I advise against visiting late at night due to the service. While the server was very friendly, the food quality seems to decline in the evening compared to the daytime. By 8:00 PM, all the bakery items were sold out, and although I had heard great things about their matcha latte, it turned out quite bitter when I ordered it hot. Perhaps it would be better served cold. I highly recommend visiting in the morning when the place is bustling! (The seating areas tend to be full.) I stopped by Bloom Cafe and between the two of us, we polished off our treats: my friend enjoyed his hojicha, while I savored my soft serve. Now, if you know me personally, you’d realize I’m that one oddball who doesn’t really like ice cream (yes, I admit it). So, finishing every last spoonful was quite significant for me. I went for the matcha and grape flavor combo — it may sound unusual, but it surprisingly blends well. It's well-balanced, not too sweet, and incredibly refreshing. I would definitely return just for the soft serve. As for the ambiance, Bloom Cafe is quiet, cozy, and private — an ideal place for a relaxed coffee chat or a peaceful setting to study or work. There’s ample seating and no loud music, which is a refreshing rarity these days. They also offer a great selection of drinks. While I’m not a coffee drinker (I know, shocking!), coffee lovers will find plenty to choose from. For those who aren’t into coffee, there are numerous non-coffee options available, so you won’t miss out. In addition, they have a tempting display of pastries and cakes that caught my eye — I’ve already noted to come back and try at least one (or three). Have you tasted their cakes? Are there any must-tries I should look for on my next visit? Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
