Contribute FeedbackBiff's Bistro, led by renowned chef Michael Bonacini, offers a mixed dining experience. While the hostess was attentive and helpful, the foie gras came with a rookie mistake. The steak was flavorful but the meat consistency was off. Desserts and the selection of half-price wine on Sundays were highlights. Other guests experienced long wait times and cold entrees, indicating that quality can vary. The menu, although not consistent with past experiences, offers a variety of French options. Service remains attentive, but the overall dining experience may depend on timing and dish selection. A mixed bag, but worth experiencing for yourself.
We had the three course prix fixe dinner and sat in the outdoor sidewalk sections n which was very nice. All three courses were delicious: mushroom soup, beef bourguinon and sorbet. However, don't eat there if you have somewhere to be afterwards. It took over...More
It is wonderful to discover a great restaurant in the St. Lawrence Market area. We went for dinner with friends and were greeted warmly when we arrived. The menu is french and had lots of options for everyone including our friend with gluten and dairy allergies. In fact without asking when the bread was brought to the table. a gluten free bread basket and olive oil was brought at the same time. Very nice touch. Two people had the price fix menu for $38 with an appetizer, main and dessert. The price fix is the same portion that you would receive if you ordered a la carte off the menu and clearly a great value. The chicken was beautifully presented and incredibly moist and juicy, the liver and duck were outstanding. The wait staff were engaging, but did not hover. It took a bit of time for the cocktails, but everything else was seamless. We will definitely be back.
My husband and I had an excellent lunch today at Biff's Bistro. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. We would highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. A special thank you to Natalie Sarino, the general manager of the restaurant.Mary Anne and David Peacock
Spouse and I were staying nearby and happened upon this restaurant. Knowing Michael Bonnacini is a famous chef we thought we would give it a try. First impressions were great. The hostess was pleasant and seated us immediately. She was very attentive and informative. First course we shared. It was the foie gras. Unfortunately the membrane was not removed and it ruined the whole experience. (Rookie mistake )The bit that I did taste prior to seeing the membrane and losing my appetite was not as pleasing as I expected. I have eaten foie gras in France many times as an appetizer this did not compare. I will give the hostess credit once she was informed the membrane was still on the gras she removed it from our bill. We both ordered steak and Frites as our main. Although the flavour on the steak was fantastic and it was cooked a perfect medium rare the consistency of the meat was off. Perhaps they sous vide the meat first or ..... I am not sure but it kind of ruined it. Also with steak and frites you normally get an aioli or mayonnaise and ketchup with your frites. My husband had dessert a pepper crème brûlée. It was an odd flavour combination he wanted to try. He thought it was decent not amazing. All in the half price bottles of wine on Sunday, and the service especially by the hostess saved the day.
Six friends had arranged lunch at Biffs. It was a Tuesday two days after summerlicious yet the restaurant had a restricted menu claiming they were not ready after summerlicious. Pardon me but you know when the final date was and would you not have stocked the pantry for regular menu?We had to wait for forty minutes for entrees to be delivered and when they arrived four items were cold or cool, not hot!Complaints to the manager resulted in the meal be complemented but we were no looking for free we were looking for quality we expected from O
