This is an A&W restaurant located in a mall. The staff here have to handle a large number of customers who may feel entitled, but they manage to get the job done. The food is typical of any A&W and the service is commendable given the challenging circumstances they face daily. Let's show some appreciation for their hard work and not be jerks. What Rodolfo McDermott doesn't like about A&w Canada:
The food was delicious, but the cashier could improve her customer service by speaking clearly instead of grunting and by not being on her phone while taking orders or packing food. I had to repeat myself three times because she was too busy texting. View all feedback.
There were five employees in the restaurant who seemed to be aimlessly spinning around and not accomplishing much. The line was long and stagnant, with only two employees appearing to be working while the other three stood by looking confused. It seemed as though they were masters at looking busy, but in reality, they were getting nothing done.
I visited the restaurant on a Friday specifically to try the limited-time Whistle Dog, but was disappointed by the lack of proper preparation. The cheese wasn't melted and was just placed on the hot dog in a hard form, with a piece of bacon stuck inside. Additionally, there was only one person working at the counter during lunchtime, leading to slow service. Despite being a regular customer at this A&W location for years, this was the first time I didn't enjoy my experience, especially because the hot dog was served cold.
The customer service at this restaurant was incredibly disappointing. I wanted to treat my child for their 6th birthday and they chose A&W from the food court. We ordered a kids meal with a "buddy burger with cheese" but when we picked it up, the staff did not inform us and just left it on the counter. When we opened it, we realized the granola bar was missing, which was supposed to be the treat. When I asked about it, the employees simply said they were out of stock without offering any apology or compensation. The burger also only had ketchup on it, despite being advertised with ketchup, mustard, and sautéed onions. My son struggled to eat it. I have contacted A&W head office about this experience and will not be returning to this location.
I have never seen such type of rude behavior from employees at any other fast food restaurant. The 2 girls at the front remained busy in phone and talking with each other and there was a line up. Also, they miss managed the order and took 20 minutes formaking it again, they even yell at customers if a customers show disappointment, extremely rude behavior I have ever seen fromany fast food restaurant.
Tonight I ordered A W food in Dufferin Mall. The cashier women talked rudly and loudly. She didn't respect to customers. My job is same, I never ever behave with customers like this. I really didn't expect this.
