The Pickle Barrel started with a simple goal: to provide exceptional dining experiences without the high prices. Our story began with six dedicated individuals opening an 85-seat deli on Leslie Street in Toronto. Since opening our doors in 1971, we have expanded to multiple locations across Greater Toronto, expanded our menu to include 300 delicious items, and grown our team to over 1,000 employees. Despite our growth, our commitment to offering quality food at great value remains unchanged. Join us and be part of our loyal customer base that continues to grow.

Overall, despite some service issues, the restaurant maintains a loyal customer base due to its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere.
On March 9, 2019, I had dinner at Centre Point, Pickle Barrel. I ordered the Deli Platter, which included roast beef, Montreal smoked meat, and corned beef. However, when the platter was served, I noticed that 95% of the Montreal smoked meat slices were brown in color, indicating spoilage. I raised this concern with the waitress, who initially insisted that this was how the meat was served. After insisting for a replacement multiple times, the waitress consulted with the cook and manager, and eventually, the spoiled meat was replaced. I was very disappointed that the restaurant allowed such low-quality food to be served in the first place.
Let’s just say, it’s better to go hungry than waste your time coming to this location. Service horrible. It’s time to give up on Cara making the Pickle Barrel great again. Shutter the place and start over with a new restaurant.
Our waiter was terrible. The moment he stood at our table he showed attitude. Then, he was not helpful finding what I wanted on the menu. He took my bf's fork away and brought back a dirty one, never cleared my salad plate, never topped up our water, never asked if everything was alright, took away my napkin and said he would bring another one which he never did. Every time I tried to flag him over, he glanced over and walked away. He needs to be fired or you will lose not only our business but everyone we know. He is one of the worst waiters I have come across and I eat out every day! I know exactly what they are supposed to do and he sucks at it big time. He ruined our first visit there. I will only go to the Yonge/Eglinton location from here on.
When our order was taken, I gave the server a coupon for a free appetizer, which was no problem. The food arrived promptly and was delicious. I was asked if I wanted another diet Coke, which I accepted. As we finished our entrees and the plates were cleared, our waters were refilled and I was asked again if I wanted another diet Coke, which I did. When the bills arrived, I noticed that the price of the appetizer was added to my bill instead of being subtracted. Meanwhile, my friend across the table had the price of the appetizer removed from his bill. I also saw that I had been charged $2.99 three times for the diet Coke refills. The server then informed me that there were no free refills on soft drinks, which would have been nice to know beforehand. In an effort to maintain good customer relations, one of the charges for the diet Coke was removed from my bill. Overall, the food was great but the service was lacking in competence.
The salad we ordered was not fresh and the nachos were underwhelming.
