Asking one man to mix the drinks for a h... read more Two stars for Kashan the bartender, who was as efficient and friendly as a bartender could be! But he was only one man. Asking one man to mix the drinks for a houseful of guests on a busy Friday night was only the beginning of this bar’s problems. I could see that many thoughts had been put into this place the decor, the cocktail menu, even the name, all trying to allude to the fantastic times like the roaring 20s. But alas! This place was anything but. It was as if the operation was deliberately driving this place into failure. The loud noise of empty liquor bottles tossed into a litter bin which sometimes ended up in messy glass shattering, the spills and splashes due to rushed orders and clumsiness, and on top of that, the cheesy choice of music were all accomplice in reducing this place into a second class night club in, for the lack of a better comparison, rural Naples, if not an outright insult to its namesake. (Ironically, the best cocktail bar I have been to in Italy was in Naples. I walked into Bar Cavour with high hopes. By the time I stepped out, I had lost all appetite for a second visit.
