The Pennant - Topeka

Went here for my birthday with my family and we were shocked when they only had a black bean burger on the menu. They used to have tons of options for vegans, 3 or 4 different burgers/sandwiches and a few interesting vegan appetizers and dessert options. Now there's almost no options. Not even sure if the black bean burger is even vegan, probably contains eggs. Should probably just pull it from HappyCow honestly. If you're downtown go next door to Olive Cafe they have many options for vegans

The service at the restaurant was friendly and helpful, but the lack of vegan options and poor labeling made for a disappointing experience. It seemed that the only vegan appetizer available was chips and salsa. The menu did not clearly indicate which items were vegan friendly, and unfortunately, none of the dishes that piqued my interest turned out to be suitable, even with the option of a black bean patty. Additionally, the only vegan bun offered was gluten free and came at an extra cost, ultimately falling short in both taste and appearance.

I had a great meal at this restaurant with a delicious black bean dish topped with a generous portion of sweet potato fries. I opted for rye bread instead of a brioche bun and had no cheese to make it vegan. This place also offers a variety of arcade games, local beers, and even a bowling alley. I recently tried the Thai Cauliflower and enjoyed its decent spiciness. This update is from my review on December 12, 2021.

The staff at this restaurant are all very friendly and attentive. Despite being busy, the food was served promptly. I dined with a vegetarian friend who had previously enjoyed a meal here. However, there weren't as many vegan options as I had expected.

Nice for dinner with friends. the food was good, good atmosphere. good location, although parking can sometimes be a stressful city inside. would recommend to others if they can handle that it is a bit loud, although not exaggerated. it was about 20 minutes too late, although it was a Friday night and we did not make a reservation.
