We had the calamari and beer battered flathead with chips and salad. The food was great except that the chips were a bit too salty (there is no need to add salt given you provided salt sachets on the side). View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Royal Exchange Toowong:
eating is nice, but overpriced for what they get. since the new management, prices have risen and not really worth it. our group of 10 said all the same, ok eat, but not worth the price. View all feedback.
This is one of these inner-city pubs, probably because it was not so far from the city. It still had a kind of suburban feeling about it....

The RE is really my favorite place for a night out. Wednesday is student night, which means $4 basics, loud music, good moods, and generally packed. The...
I stumbled upon the Royal Exchange Hotel after my original lunch plans fell through, and I'm glad they did! The staff was friendly, the place was clean, and the $10 weekly lunch specials were a great deal. The steak sandwich I ordered was a good size, though the chips were a bit small for my liking. The sandwich was made with thick, toasted bread, juicy steak with a touch of BBQ sauce, and fresh tomato and lettuce. The chips were fantastic, thick cut, crispy, and perfectly salted. The atmosphere was relaxed with alternative music playing in the background. Overall, a great spot for a cheap and tasty lunch with friends. It may get busier in the evenings with its big TVs for sports viewing, but during lunchtime, it was a laid-back and enjoyable experience.
This pub, owned by BWS/Woolworths, offers standard fare. The food was decent, especially the $10 specials. The steak sandwich was quite good, and the parmy/schnitzel also looked appetizing. I would give it 3 stars.
