We really enjoy eating at this seafood restaurant. The food is so fresh and well cooked. Prices are fair, and the service is good. A small bar serves the necessaries. We probably eat here every couple of months, and love going back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Spinnaker Seafood Market:
Staff very friendly, minimal wait time, however barramundi was below par with a rubbery texture and bland flavour. The selection of fish varieties was poor, especially lacking in Queensland reef fish. View all feedback.
Friday evenings are often enjoyed having a supper dinner at Bribie Island. We don't live too far away, I work close by, and it is a great excuse to knock off work early! So last night was our second trip to Spinnaker, we came last Friday too! The destination for this trip was actually our five year old son's suggestion, he had been rather well behaved, and as a treat we let him pick where we would go! I have actually been driving past this venue for many years, on my way to Bribie Island, have seen the signs, but until last week had never pulled in for a try. Located between the Bribie Island road and the harbour, the setting is beautiful, although the proximity to the road does give for some traffic noise; however, the restaurant is angled towards the harbour so the noise isn't too bad. Ever one to try something different, I plumped for the special 'grilled cod with curry sauce on a bed of rice', while my wife and son shared a basket of calamari, chips and sea food balls. My cod was firm and moist, with a fresh delicate flavour, and the curry sauce didn't kill the flavour of the fish at all; the curry sauce had peas and carrots mixed in too, so I got a simultaneous veggie hit! The rice was light and fluffy, and the whole meal proportions were very well balanced. My wife's fish and chips, because of course I got a taste too, were great. The chips are really crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! The calamari was melt in your mouth succulent, the fish balls were the seafood stick variety in a ball shape, which as it happens were very useful in demonstrating fractions to our son! We were also tempted by a desert, there is a selection of ice creams, but also a special board with apple pie bites with ice cream - tempting, but finally decided we had eaten sufficient, but maybe next time... The restaurant has toilet facilities, kids high chairs, a great outside dining verandah overlooking a grassed area for playing, before the harbour. Inside dining is ample, and all round the place is immaculately clean and tidy. The adjacent car park is large, and you can also park on the other side of the restaurant adjacent to the harbour. Spinnaker also carries a range of wet fish too. So, to finish off the night I decided to buy some take home fish for tonight's dinner! We shall be having Tandori Snapper on a bed of vegetable rice! Can't wait! We had a great evening, and a fantastic dinner. Competition for customers is strong, and many restaurants in the area work hard to provide a good offering, Spinnakers provides a great offering, and is on our list of places to go back to!
