Island Soul - Toledo

Island Soul offers some of the finest authentic cuisine in Toledo. The aromas are truly captivating, and every dish is perfectly seasoned—each bite is a delight. The quality of the food is consistently outstanding! I can't even begin to imagine how much effort goes into preparing each dish, but the dedication is evident in the flavors. My favorites are the lemonade, callaloo, and johnny cakes! The beans and rice may seem simple at first glance, but believe me, once you taste them, you'll find yourself following the food truck around the city whenever it’s out and about. Don't just take my word for it—go there immediately!

I first forgot to take photos before diving in because everything looked and smelled too delicious! This was my first order with @islandsoul419, and by chance, I spoke to someone who had traveled here and raved about the food. I preordered my meal through DoorDash, realizing they don’t open late or on weekends, and I’m really glad I did. The presentation was the first thing that impressed me, and the portion sizes were very generous. Being half Jamaican, I have a love for Caribbean cuisine, and I'm thrilled to have found a new go-to spot in Toledo. I highly recommend giving this place a try; you’ll enjoy their lovingly prepared dishes!

I’m originally from Chicago but moved back to Toledo a few years ago. I've been on the lookout for a great restaurant for a while, and although I've had some good experiences, nothing here compares to Island Soul! I tried the curry goat and the plantain fries. The goat was tender, well-seasoned, and paired perfectly with the rice and peas! And those plantain fries? Absolutely delicious! Every time I took a bite, I found myself saying, "This doesn't even make sense"—in a good way, of course! Each bite was better than the last! I can't say enough positive things about this place! I will definitely be ordering again!

The lachspatties are the most amazing food I put in my mouth, along with the soße *co kiss.* this restaurant does not miss! the grotten are smokey and creamy and I can eat them every day. the salmon salad is my lunch, the jerk sauce on the draught and tear is a game made in the sky. If they want to support a small, local, owned company, this is the one.

I gave Island Soul a 5 star review because it is simply the best food I've tasted since moving back to Toledo. I lived in Chicago for 41yrs where they have some of THE best Restaurants with every cuisine from around world. Honestly, Island Soul took me back to Chicago. If you try Island Soul and don't like it, you don't no good food but I'm sure you're gonna love it.
