This is literally the best Asian/sushi place in the area. I was around the East Coast and Midwest and Bar High Class NYC, this place has the most delicious food. My girlfriend is the favorite of Shoyu Ramen or Omurice, and mine is the Pork Katsu Curry. My husband was making orange chicken and we needed a side of fried rice. Our local go-to was closed so I placed a to-go for an order of shrimp fried rice with the closest restaurant. My first impression was wow I wished I would have stopped in to order because I would have just walked back out. This restaurant is old and filthy. This place is an intimate sushi restaurant that lives beyond the visual expectations. The sushi is very fresh, service is no bs which is fun. Have never walked out and thought anything less of Food: 5/5
Definitely a relaxing place and staff is very friendly. Their food is delicious! We ordered two sushi rolls and steak hibachi. Good portion sizes and not overly priced like other Japanese restaurants. We will be coming back!
Like I said, it's hit and sometimes a miss. The food is pretty tasty when it's fresh. The octopus balls are fire. The sushi is fresh most of the time. The entrees are delicious. The omelet meal is bomb.

I thought I had a bad experience and posted a bad review. The chef then texted me privately. It seems like I totally misunderstood my experience, things were perfect and he actually is a nice guy who treated his customer really well. Excellent example how to do service recovery. This is the chef/manager for tougen. I'm just curious, why do you have to lie in your review. Are you afraid that the truth will make you look bad? So you have to lie to make me look bad? At what point did i tell you to leave?At what point did my server apologize to you profusely? My server is not embarrassed that he works here. And of course, you also forgot to mention that i did issue you the refund that you were demanding. And why didn't you bother to mention that my server offered to deliver the missing food to you to make up for a simple mistake. And believe it or not, i didn't even know you were yelling at me in the first place that's why you thought i was ignoring you.And my answer to you that day, regarding don't i think it should be free, for me. When i go out and eat. I will see what the situation is. I normally won't go in demanding for free food for just some simple mistakes especially since they offered to fix the problem. It's a shame that people try to extort other people in situations like this.
