We arrived in Tobermory to pandemonium. The place was crazy. We chose to eat quickly (we were in a rush) at Princess Dining room. When we sat down the place filled up quickly. I figured our meal would take a long time to come out...and would taste like ****. Boy was I wrong!!! (Clearly I’ve watched too many episodes of “kitchen nightmares” The wait staff were calm and cool and serving all of their customers in a very... View all feedback.
What Adriana Armstrong doesn't like about Princess Diningroom:
Be prepared to wait or try to make a reservation in advance. Only a few restaurants were open during the Oktober weekend in the city, and the ones that were had long lines and were not prepared for the high volume of diners. Due to Covid, we waited over an hour in line, but luckily we got to chat with a friendly couple also waiting. The food was reasonably priced, comfortable, tasty, and served in good portion sizes.... We'd had fast food with chips at lunchtime, but there seemed only more of the same on offer round the town. Hotel food has a mixed reputation, but this was good, with some excellence. We both had starters only, being not terribly hungry. My OH had the falafels which were OK - maybe 7/10. I had the Horiatiki Greek village salad, which was fresh and tasty - 10/10. A shared slice of Blueberry pie was good, and service very good.
Casual dining in pleasant surroundings with well trained staff who WANT to help. Try the stir fried veg with chicken but only if your hungry
Old school Greek ownership makes this restaurant a must for a quality breakfast. Food is fresh, always cooked perfectly and great value. Service is pleasant enough but it's the food and the view that keep me going back. Their breakfast is the only properly cooked one in town.
Stopped in for lunch and had a hot hamburger meal. The service was great and the food tasted homemade. Although they were busy the wait time was good. The quality of the meat was good and the fries were fresh. I will return. Also retuned in July and stopped for breakfast and the western omelette was good.
Lovely dining room whose design pays homage to its seaside roots. Wonderful service. Though the dining room is part of the hotel, all are made welcome to stop in for a meal. (Finally remembered to order "brown" bread rather than saying "wheat" - lol!)
