Looked on Trip Advisor, and only 3 km away was L'A... read more We were staying on the outskirts of Reims, it was very wet and cold and we were looking for somewhere to eat. Looked on Trip Advisor, and only 3 km away was L'Aqua. How appropriate! What a gem of a place to find. As others...have said do not under any circumstances be put off by the utilitarian exterior because beneath lies a heart of good service and very good food. The maitre D is very welcoming and will give recomendations for wine and food but he speaks no English but then again why should he. The menu du jour is very good. Started with the Foie gras and moved on to beef cooked exactly as I had asked. The chef came out and made sure everything was OK. The amount of care taken over service and food was examplary.

The portions are generous and... read more This looks pretty ordinary from the outside but on the inside it is very different. The welcome is warm and the food is very good. The portions are generous and the two guys running it really try to make your evening a great one. The...food is quite traditional and is very well cooked and presented. The wine was well priced and we were recommended something that was interesting and very drinkable. A nice mix of locals and people on the road but everyone is treated to the same excellent service. We stay nearby in the Novotel and this is just up the road and well worth the visit. We had our dog with us but as with most places in France this was not an issue. It is really good to see a restaurant really trying to please its customers and if we can get here in time when we pass through we will definitely be back.
