Tonight my partner and I spent over all around $200 on 3 courses and drinks for a very disappointing meal. Very hard dry potatoes, sent back but still paid for them as they didn't seem to care if we ate them or not. Meals with piklets, waffles with just meh flavours. I am a true local and this was one of my favourite places to eat...what happened? Staff are beautiful as always and a couple of dishes were true highlights. Coliflower and the chocolate dessert still my favourites out of 6 meals i can only really name these 2 as my consistent enjoyment dishes. Summer was also amazing and im not sure honestly if i will return.
Beautiful meals, I’m vegan and they were extremely helpful in making sure I had the choices, so, delicious, absolutely lovely service, highly recommend you stop in and try them out
Very very good. 3 course lunch was absolutely superb. A ragout of local venison and a trout dish were both excellent to start with. Magnificently tender and tasty beef cheeks and a loin of to follow. Beautifully presented and full of flavour. Deserts were good too. Pleasant and attentive service. No wonder they win awards. We live an hour away but it's well worth the drive. Will be back for sure.
Great location, great food, excellent service highly recommend. We were greeted at the door by the owner and made to feel welcome straight away. The wait staff were very attentive. There were excellent choices on the menu something for everyone
My husband I dined at the Tinamba Hotel Thu 26 Jan 2023 as we were staying in the area. What a gem! It was impressive from the moment we drove past the huge pots of healthy greenery and the immaculate exterior. New owners Simon and Tania Johnson have waved a magic wand. The decor inside did not disappoint either all very elegant and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being over the top. Which brings us to the food. Oh. My. Goodness. Head Chef Gerard Phelan has put such thought into the menu, with very interesting (and delicious combinations of locally sourced ingredients. The amuse bouche of baby cucumber circles (grown onsite by the chef 's wife topped with goat 's cheese mousse was exquisite. My venison ragu with blueberries and my husband 's beef cheeks were both melt in the mouth deliciousness. Even the side servings of vegetables were truly divine. No desserts after all that but the coffee was really good, too. This place is remarkable. I highly recommend it and yes, it would be well worth the drive from Melbourne! 10/10
