La Chacana - Tilcara

The food is amazing! We ate 3 empanadas de carne and caviche de quinoa for a starter And Bife de chorizo ravioli. It was soooo good

We really wanted to have a vegetarian meal and this restaurant has some options. We had the veggie lasagne and the ravioli with pumpkin, ricotta and nuts with a delicious sauce (salsa pink . The portions are smaller than what you usually get in Argentina (which is usually too much for me, but enough). The staff is very friendly and they have color pencils on each table so that you can color in a mandala while waiting for your meal: fun to see all adults coloring.

Good prices, cold beer, rather unimaginative food. Ok if all you need is fuel! Not so great otherwise.

We did not eat here but came here twice for an apero, and it is a very special cozy courtyard. The chips /crisps were not great, but everything else was perfect, especially the atmosphere and great staff. The hostel looks really nice and we would visit again.

We went to La Chacana for dinner during Easter. The menu looks very promising, but the food does not live to its expectations. We ordered a quite elaborated salad which had no dressing (they only brought oil and vinegar, which took away much of the potential of it). We also ordered a dish with a combination of local foods, but some of them were overcooked and some others were not tasty. Service was kind, the place is clean and nicely set, although there's no view or special charm to it. Prices are reasonable for Tilcara.
