Stop on the el mirador for lunch after a trip of uxmal. we had the most authentic lunch of our month trip. best view in the city and beautiful brise. we had the poc chuc pork slowly cook over wood fire in a local. sour orange marinated. the queso relleno was excellent and we also enjoyed a pitcher of ice-cold lima juice and a great flan. look for the highest point in tucal and they will find it!

We eat here on a hot Sunday. the views are great, the brise was delightful, the staff was friendly and attentive. my man had the queso relleno and found it very tasty and unique to its palette. I had the baked fish. I enjoyed it. the strangest thing about this meal was that my man was served and had finished his meal long before my came to the table. the prices were much lower here than similar restaurants. our meal with drinks was under $300 pesos. all in all we had a pleasant time.

We stop for lunch in the el mirador and the owner chef welcomed us as we entered the restaurant. they have fresh fish and all traditional jukatan dishes. the chef was trained many years ago by the owner of one of the best most popular restaurants in merida. all food cooking over wood and eating is very delicious! see this place when they look for a great and fresh meal.

This was a delightful lunch stop 30 minutes from Uxmal and overlooking the town of Ticul. We had the papadzules (tortillas filled with hard boiled eggs) as an appetizer. Then cochinita pibil (pork in a flavorful marinade) and pollo a la yucateca for our main...courses. The restaurant is open air with a great view of Ticul and the jungle. We were the only tourists surrounded by locals. The service was lovely, even though our Spanish is quite limited and the staff did not speak English. The restaurant overlooks Ticul from the south (not the north as other reviewers have suggested). As of January 2016, the Tripadvisor map is in accurate. This is located off Calle 42 to the south of Ticul (you'll see signs as you exit the town limits).

This is a must when they are in ticul! the view of the city and the surrounding hills is beautiful. eating is good and reasonable. we had the fish (see before and after photos) and the poc chuc. both were good but not. the best of all time. still definitiw the visit worth.
