The service here was top class and the atmosphere was ideal, festive with beautiful lighting and we had a quiet place for our family meal. that was delicious. m... read more The service here was top class and the atmosphere was ideal, festive with beautiful lighting and we had a quiet place for our family meal. that was delicious. my only complaint was that the vegetarian option of a mushroom risotto contained parmasan that is not suitable for vegetarian (as it contains animal rennet that is out of the lining of the lean of a calf, which means that the animal for it to die is not milk or its average cheese). there was no other vegetarian option so I served with something from her online menu gogan crumb with salat and chips that was very delicious. this chef would not be the first to think that parmasan is vegetarian, in which did most do. we didn't wait long for our food and there were empty plates around. the portion sizes were more than sufficient and overall there was a large selection in the menu. keep them the good work withchel house. we went to the granary pub after drinks, that was fab. we had a great night.

The... read more If you find yourself in Thurles, Tipperary, then please give Mitchell House a try. We had Sunday lunch for my Mother-in-Law’s birthday, a group of about 15. The restaurant dining room was clean and light setting a warm ambience. The service was excellent and only outdone by the food. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, always making sure glasses were full. The food was excellent and served in good time considering the size of our party. Overall, a great place to visit and good value for money.

Despite booking at the last minute without much prior research, I was thoroughly impressed by the ambiance, the friendly staff, and most importantly, the outstanding food. The goat cheese starter stood out as a particular favorite. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that made for a truly enjoyable evening.
