Contribute FeedbackUp In Smoke in Thunder Bay is a long-standing local favorite renowned for its excellent food. The restaurant, known for its BBQ, offers a menu featuring delicious options such as Prime Rib Po Boys and Catfish Po Boys. The ambiance, however, falls short with arborite tables that resemble a cafeteria. Despite the lack of communication from servers, the food is exceptional, with dishes served hot and tasty. The restaurant boasts a surprisingly extensive liquor menu and reasonable prices. Although closed on certain days, Up In Smoke is definitely worth a visit for delicious BBQ and friendly service.
This has been a long standing local favorite here in thunder bay. congrats to them for being successful for so any years. good luck to you in your future endeavors.
Waiter said that owner/chef was retiring next week and he (waiter) didn't want to buy the place to retiring also. Restaurant will close next week (November 2016). We found it closed on Tuesday night even though it was supposed to be open. We went for lunch Wednesday and the various food ordered by our party was all enjoyed.
I visit this place regularly. Not the fanciest but food is good. I love the Poo-Bouy sandwiches, and ribs Prime rib is hit and miss as they only cook so much.
Service with a smile from Shelly. Pulled pork looked wonderful as did the New Oelans style catfish. I had the catfish Po Boy with spicy gumbo a favorite of mine.
There was lots of food, but at a cost and nothing that WOWED my wife or I. We were expecting something different and it wasn't there.
